Christmas Wish

Hi everyone, today is my final post for So Suzy Stamps.  It has been a pleasure being a part of the So Suzy design team this past year and I am so thankful to Suzy for allowing me to work with her amazing stamps.

This lovely pattern paper is from Best Creations.  It is so Christmas-y.  I matted the paper with green cardstock so it stands out some more.  A simple Wish sentiment was stamped on white cardstock, then matted with red and green cardstock.

Thanks for stopping by today.
Please stop by the So Suzy blog and see what else I've created today.

Happy New Year

Hi everyone, I've created another card using Joy Clair Stamps.  Have you check out the store yet?  Their stamps are amazing.

I've used Joyful Wishes, which consists of 19 sentiments and and images in conjunction with Raise Your Glass.  It's never too early to get your New Year's cards ready.  The background is a Cuttlebug embossing folder and I lightly ran a black ink pad over the embossed portions.  The glass was stamped three times using a masking technique and stickles were added to simulate wine.

The wine glasses were die cut and added to the card atop the sentiment.

Give Thanks

It's a new challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms, and we'd love to see some food, after all Thanksgiving is not too far away now.

I'm using Turkey in the Pumpkin Patch, after all turkey is food right?

I colored the image with Copic Markers and then fussy cut it before adding it to corrugated paper.  The sentiment is from the Fall Harvest stamp set.

Winter Snow Flakes

Hi everyone, I've created another card using Joy Clair Stamps.  Have you check out the store yet?  Their stamps are amazing.

Today I'm using Winter Snow Flakes.  There are 20 stamps in this set.

I wanted to create simple cards so I randomly stamped snowflakes about the cards.  Then I tied ribbons around the cards.

Just add the sentiments and two cards are quickly created.  I randomly added some dew drops in the centers of some of the snowflakes.

Merry Christmas Sentiments with Joy Clair

Hi everyone, I've created another card using Joy Clair Stamps.  Have you check out the store yet?  Their stamps are amazing.

Today I'm using Merry Christmas sentiments.  This stamp set has 17 sentiments and images - lots of fun for your upcoming card requirements.

I used a Spellbinders die to cut my paper and created with step card.

Let it Snow was stamped four times on the steps and dew drops were added to the tiny flakes and also about the card.  Sentiments were added inside and out.

I also created this card using one of the sentiments as the focal point.

Decorative Snowmen Jars

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today.    It's almost winter and it's time to start getting ready for the holidays.  I find there is nothing more enjoyable than creating holiday decorations and gifts.

I've used glass jars to create snowmen.  Just fill them with assorted candies or small toys and give them as gifts or simply display them with the rest of your decorations.

Begin by first etching the jars with Etchall's dip 'n etch.  This gives the jars a nice etched appearance.  Following the manufacturer's instructions, allow the jars to sit in the dip 'n etch for 15 minutes.  Since dip 'n etch is reusable, simply pour the liquid back in the jar after the etching process.

Mix Makin's Clay red and white clay together to get a softer shade of red.  Roll out the clay using a clay machine until you get the desired thickness.   Next, use the smallest Makin's Clay Flower Clay Cutter to cut 6 flowers.  Using an xacto knife, carefully cut out 2 pairs of mittens and give them a little texture using a Makin's Clay Texture Sheet.

Using liquid adhesive, adhere all the elements to the jars.  Allow them to set, then add a layer of white clay on the mittens forming cuffs - no adhesive is necessary as wet clay will adhere to clay.  Roll out little balls of white clay to add to the center of the flowers.

To finish tie ribbons around the glass jar and the jar top.  Aren't they adorable?

Merry Christmas Snowmen

Hi everyone, I've created another card using Joy Clair Stamps.  Have you check out the store yet?  Their stamps are amazing.

Today I'm working with Cozy Snowman Wishes.

The step card is a Spellbinders die - it simply dies and scores in one pass.

The snowpeople were stamped and colored with Copic Markers.  The sentiments were all included in the stamp set.  There are 21 stamps to chose from, so I see many more cards in my future.

Handmade Holidays Blog Hop 2015

Hi everyone, welcome to the Handmade Holidays Blog Hop.  I've been involved in this hop for the last several years and I am excited to be participating again.  Check out this list of sponsors.

My project is a tote which I've filled with candles for a friend.

I'm using a Walnut Hollow tote which I painted with Deco Art gold paint inside and out.  I love the rugged texture so I wanted to emphasize it.

Next I aged the tote a bit by inking randomly over the paint with ColorBox Crafter's Ink in Stone.

I used ColorBox Crafter's Ink by Ann Butler in Deep Woods with the ColorBox Bloom Artscreen in the corners.

I wanted to add assorted candles for the recipient so I decorated them first.

I added flowers to the top of the smaller jar, then wrapped ribbon around the lid.  The tapers were tied with ribbon and the white candle was rolled in 2 colors of ColorBox Glitter for a fun striped effect.

The largest candle jar was etched with Etchall dip 'n etch.  Then I used the ColorBox Tropical Artscreen with Deep Woods Crafter's Ink on the jar.  Dip 'n etch provides a tooth by which inks and other products adhere to glass.  It creates a really nice texture to work on.

And the candles fit nicely inside the tote.

Rare and wonderful....

It's a new challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms, and we'd love to see circles on your projects.

The card background was embossed with a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder and then lightly inked.  Several circles were die cut, inked and added to the card.

Ribbon was tied around the card (and it also has circles on it).  The sentiment is from Friend Expressions.

Christmas Story Book

It's a new challenge at Scor-Pal and we'd love to see your books this month.

Books can be fun to make and the Scor-Pal makes creating them easy.

First, select some chipboard to use as covers and paint them with Licorice Chalk it Up Paint from Earth Safe Finishes.  Chalk paint dries quickly so you have almost no down time when creating this book.

Create the spine of the book by cutting cardstock 4" x 6" and then scoring every 1/2".

Place Scor-Tape along both outside edges.  Then mountain and valley fold.

Adhere the chipboard covers to the spine.

Cut pattern papers to fit the front cover.

Cut black cardstock panels and adhere to the spine to create the pages.  Then cut assorted pattern papers to fit the cardstock panels.

 And my finished book.

Be sure to stop by the Scor-pal blog to see everyone's creations this month.  And enter your project in this month's challenge.

Thanks for stopping by today.
