Lovely Zemira with video

Hi everyone, today's card is an experiment which, I think turned out fabulous.  I have decided that I need to start videos so Zemira became the focal point for my cards. 

I created the background using Distress Oxide Inks.

Then I stamped Zemira with VersaFine Clair Pinecone Ink.

Altered Travel Journal

Hi everyone, I'm on the Rinea blog today with a travel journal.

2020 was the year we had planned a number of trips:  Greece in April, US travel this summer, and more.  But all was put on hold due to Covid19, however, we do plan to travel in 2021 so this journal will come in handy then.

 I began by painting a kraft journal with gesso so I could decorate with foiled papers, stamps and inks.

While still wet, I adhered Marigold Starstruck  Foiled Paper to the journal.  I also applied some more gesso randomly around the front cover, covering part of the foil.  This not only assured a good seal, it also gave me a base to which I could add assorted inks.  

Once dry, I decorated my journal using several stencils and modeling paste.  Since I plan on using this as a travel journal, I also used a travel themed stencil for the word "adventure" with arrow and the map in the upper corner.  In the bottom corner I used a brick stencil.

Once dry, I spritzed assorted colors of inks about the journal, using a paper towel to pick up excess inks.  Using StazOn ink with a script stamp, I added it randomly around the edges of my journal.

Ebony/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper was adhered to small chipboard squares which were then added to the journal.  I randomly stamped travel themed stamps about the foil using StazOn  Black Ink.

My journal is now ready with assorted pages and pockets to hold my travel paperwork.

Hearts Phone Stand

Hi everyone, I'm on the Clear Scraps blog with this fun phone stand.  If you check out Clear Scraps store, you will find an assortment of phone stands to work with.

I chose to work the Hearts Wood Phone Stand  and decided to paint it with blue paint.  

I wanted pattern paper to show behind the hearts, so I cut  pattern paper to fit behind the hearts and then adhered in place using the Tape Runner.

For a little pizzazz spritz  the phone stand with gold spray ink.  Let dry completely.

Decorate with gem stones surrounding the hearts and place a flower in the corner.

Place your phone on the stand so you always know where it is!!!

Lavinia World Challenge 28

Hi everyone, it's time for the next challenge at Lavinia World Challenges.  Please check it out and join in the fun.

Have you tried Brush Crystal Colours yet?  They are amazing and I've been having a lot of fun creating with them.  The backgrounds for my cards today use Brushos.  Once the backgrounds dried, I used the following Lavinia stamps - Bria Rose, Faerie Spells, and Slender Mushroom Miniatures on each card.

I used a glitter pen around the moon on this card.

I've actually created a video showing how I created these cards and I would love to know what you think!

How to make a patchwork heart

Hi everyone, I'm on the Proxxon blog today with a patchwork heart.

For today's project, I used the 2 Speed Scroll Saw to cut a a heart, then used the Band Saw to create the zig zag pattern while cutting it in half.

The Disk Sander made easy work of sanding the pieces.

Next, I used the Bench Drill Press to add holes in both pieces of the heart.

I began by painting the heart with Plaid black paint.  Next, I used modeling paste through a stencil to give the heart some depth.

I added an assorted of Plaid paints to give my heart life, then painted cross stitches where the colors met giving the illusion of a patchwork piece.  Using StazOn Ink, I stamped a script stamp randomly about the heart.

To "mend" the heart, I threaded ribbon through the holes and tied  it at the bottom.

Finally, in keeping with the patchwork/stitching theme, I added assorted embellishments.

Shaped Stenciled Cards

Hi everyone, I'm on the Clear Scraps blog  and we are cross promoting with TapeRunner this month.  I've created a set of shaped cards using the 6" Post/Flowers Stencil.

Having a lot of pattern papers in my stash, I decided to use assorted papers as the background for this fun stencil.

Selecting an assortment of Imagine inks, I placed the stencil on the pattern paper and inked it up using the ink pads and ink daubers.

Wanting a shaped card, I used Spellbinders dies to create an easel card.  I die cut the card with the larger die, then die cut the pattern paper with the next smaller die.  The inked panel was then added to the cards using the TapeRunner.

To keep the card upright, I die cut a strip to fit across the card base, placing it on the base with foam adhesives for dimension.  This ensured the cards would stand upright.

Stampendous Stamps were used on the sign posts as well as the center strips of the cards.

To finish, brads were added to the flower centers.

When folded the cards fit into square envelopes.

So why not pull pattern papers from your stash and create amazing designs with stencils.

ScorPal Challenge #70

Hi everyone, it's a new month and the challenge on the Scor-Pal blog is to create anything, just be sure it includes more than one score.

With Father's Day on the horizon, I created a card for Dad.

Cut cardstock 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".  Score each strip at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2".

Use Scor-Tape to assemble the panels together.  Fold the outside panels creating a double gate fold card.

Cut pattern paper to fit inside the card.  Cut strips of pattern papers and cardstock to fit the flaps.  Die cut circles, adhering just the left side to the card.

Add a puffy car sticker on the circle so it becomes the focal element of the card.

Using a stamp from the Joy Clair Classic Father's Day stamp set, stamp Happy Father's Day on a strip of cardstock and adhere under the car.  Cut a panel for the center of the card using cardstock and pattern paper.  Score 1/4" along the pattern paper and adhere to the card.

Masculine Cards with Clearscraps

Hi everyone, I'm on the Clear Scraps blog and it's time to celebrate the men in our lives.  Whether it's for Father's Day or his birthday, Clearscraps' Cog Gears Chipboard Embellishments are the perfect choice for creating masculine cards.

The 4 chipboard gears are attached to a chipboard frame which you can easily separate.  

I decided to use the chipboard frame on one of my cards so I left one of the gears attached to the frame then painted all pieces with brown paint.

The frame worked out to be a great focal point for my first card.  Cutting Rinea Sapphire/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper to fit, I embossed it then adhered it to the frame. 

The frame was then adhered to the card and a stamped phrase added within the frame.  Finally,  I added the smaller gear in the center of the large gear.

I created another card using the 2 remaining gears.

After creating a card from cardstock, I used Rinea Ebony/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper and Rinea Marigold Starstruck Foiled Paper with Lawn Fawn dies.  I placed the painted gears in opposite corners.

The phrases were stamped, die cut and added to the center of the card.

Treat Containers with Rinea Foiled Papers

Hi everyone, I love creating little treat containers and these were definitely fun to make.  Using assorted Rinea Foiled Papers, you can create these containers for so many different occasions.

I created small boxes from 4" squares of white cardstock; scored them at 1" and adhered them together with Scor-Tape to form the box.  Then I cut 1 3/4" strips of  Rinea Foiled Papers and wrapped them around each box.  For the handles,  I cut 1" strips of Rinea Foiled Papers and adhered them inside the boxes.   

The wishing wells, from Heartfelt Creations, were stamped with VersaFine ink and then heat set with clear embossing powder.  Next, I die cut enough images for the boxes with the coordinating die.  Then I colored each wishing well with Copic Markers.

My first basket uses Marigold Starstruck.  I cut a strip of Marigold  1 3/4" wide, gluing it to fit around the box.  Another 1" strip was cut for the handle and glued inside the box.  The wishing wells were adhered to both sides of the box.

I created a 2nd box using Jade Starstruck as I did the previous box.

My 3rd box uses Mocha Starstruck.  

While I did use Starstruck Papers for my boxes, I could also have used Glossy Papers to achieve different looks.

I added liquid pearls to the centers of the flowers for additional dimension.

Then I filled the baskets with raffia and candies.  Just change up the colors and the stamped images and create these boxes for any occasion.
