Lavinia World Challenge #31

Hi everyone, it's time for the next challenge at Lavinia World Challenges.  Please check it out and join in the fun.

I decided to create a mini book to showcase how you can also decorate a canvas book cover with Lavinia stamps.

I painted the canvas panel with pigment powders mixed with water to create a paint.  I first painted the canvas gold, then added streaks of pink.  The store has a lot of pigment powders in so many colors so it's easy to pick your favorite colors.   

I stamped three Dream Catchers in various heights along the bottom, then Dragonfly Keeper and one of the fairies from the Three Dancing Fairies using VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink on the panel.  Next, I sponged Green Oasis Ink under and around the Dream Catchers then stamped Mini Dots  around them.

The Stone Texture stamp was stamped in the lower corners using Pinecone Ink.  I stamped portions of the  stamp around the edges of the panel.  Next, I created a moon around the Dragonfly Keeper using an acetate circle and purple inks.  I also sponged purple ink around the entire book.  The Faerie Spells stamp was randomly stamped around the cover using Pinecone Ink.  Finally I added some stickles about the cover. 

I assembled my book with watercolor papers and finished with ribbons on the rings.

Sweet Canvas and Card

Hi everyone, I'm on the Rinea blog today using an assortment of  foiled papers and die cut elements to create a canvas panel and a card.  Simply by mixing up the die cut pieces, you can create a variety of  different projects.

Using a large Spellbinders die, I die cut Sapphire Starstruck Foiled Paper and Ebony Starstruck Foiled Paper.  Next, I die cut the branch from Mocha Starstruck Foiled Paper and the leaves from Emerald Starstruck Foiled Paper.

I decided to create a canvas with the Ebony panel.  I inlaid the Sapphire oval as the base for my  branch and the tiny birds.  The birds were die cut from Gold/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper and adhered to the center of the oval just sitting on the branch.  The leaves were placed on the branches.

A smaller panel of Arctic/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper was added to the hanging sign.  Hello was die cut from Violet/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper and adhered to the sign.  A light layer of blue ink was added around the panel.

Using the left over pieces, I created a card from the large Sapphire die cut and the Ebony oval.  A phrase was stamped on a white oval and placed on the center of the card.  Surrounding it, I added a bench and several flower pots which had been colored with Copic Markers.  The watering can was stamped with StazOn ink on Silver/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper and then fussy cut.

All the elements were added to the card with glue dots for a bit of dimension.

Sweet Butterfly Cards

Hi everyone, I'm on the ClearScraps blog with a set of butterfly cards.

Using assorted inks, I colored the butterflies, then added embossing powder giving them a bit of shine.

The backgrounds for my cards were created using assorts spray inks from Lindys Stamp Gang.  Cutting the panels to size, I used the 6" Post/Flowers Stencil, aligning it on the panel. 

I removed and realigned the stencil to add another flower.

I matted the panel with green cardstock then added it to a yellow card.

The butterfly's body was adhered to the card so it appears to be in flight.  A Tim Holtz stamped phrase was added to the upper corner.

My 2nd card using another spritzed panel that was embossed and die cut with Lawn Fawn dies.

A double layer of cattails was added to the card and the butterfly was adhered in place.  A Tim Holtz stamped phrase was also added to the upper corner.

You Are Always There Card

Hi everyone, I'm on the Rinea blog with a funny card today.

I had a new die set I wanted to play with so I pulled out a variety of purple papers and started to create.  Since the die came in a variety of layers, I die cut each layer in a different color.  The base was die cut from Gold/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper.  The middle layer was die cut with Violet/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper and the top layer was die cut with Lavender Starstruck.

I created a criss cross card from layers of Bazzill purple cardstocks and adhered the foiled panel to the center.  I used a Crackerbox/SoSuzy stamp, stamping it on white cardstock and then die cutting it into an oval shape to fit within the shape of the foiled elements.  Dew drops were added to the panel.

Finally, I created a card insert from the same cardstocks and stamped this funny Crackerbox/SoSuzy stamp on a white panel.  This turned out to be a great card insert when taken in context with the other stamp. 

Who wouldn't get a good laugh from this card?

Hello Summer!!!!!

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with showing you how to create a Summer plaque.

Draw a shell pattern on a piece of plywood.  Use the Scroll Saw to cut around the design.  

Use the Disc Sander to sand the edges of the panel.   Then use the Delta Sander to sand any remaining edges.

Paint the panel with Plaid paint.   Allow to dry then randomly dry brush on some white paint.  Decorate with mesh and assorted shells created from Makin's Clay.

Stamp a script stamp with black ink randomly about the edges of the panel.

Die cut 2 palm trees and Hello Summer from Rinea Foiled Papers using Emerald Starstruck and Gold/Gold Glossy.

Finish by adding a stamped and fussy cut Prima doll to the panel.

In my Thoughts Card

Hi everyone, I'm on the Rinea blog today with a quick and easy sympathy card.

Using a Spellbinders die, die cut Sapphire/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper.  It's such a delicate design and die cuts beautifully from the foiled papers.   Create a card from white cardstock and adhere the die cut panel to the card front.  

Stamp, color and die cut the flowers and place in the left corner.  Stamp and die cut the sentiment and place it to the right of the flowers using foam adhesives for dimension.

And, since I love this die, I decided to die cut additional panels for future projects. in Emerald/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper, Silver/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper and Fuchsia/Fuchsia Starstruck.  

Aren't they pretty?

Lavinia World Challenge #30

Hi everyone, it's time for the next challenge at Lavinia World Challenges.  Please check it out and join in the fun.

Stamp Winifred  and  the Brave and Loved sentiment with  VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink  on white cardstock.

Die cut Winifred and a larger mat from red cardstock.  Corner round the edges of the sentiment and mat with red cardstock.

Created a 5 1/2" square card from navy cardstock.  Add a striped layer.  Cut a star layer for the top layer, mat with cardstock and then adhere to the card.  Place Winifred off center then add the sentiment with foam adhesives for dimension.  Add the star paper inside.

ScorPal Challenge #71

Hi everyone, it's a new month and the challenge on the Scor-Pal blog is to create anything, just be sure it includes more than one score.  I chose to create a diagonal fold card.

Please use a good quality cardstock so the card stands upright.
Cut cardstock 5" x 10"

Score at 2 1/2", 5" and 7 1/2"
Create the point by cutting the cardstock to the 2 1/2" score line.

Score diagonally from the 2 1/2" score line to the 7 1/2" score line.

Fold independently along both long score lines.

Fold along the 5" scored lines.

Where the score lines intersect, fold creating the diagonal.
It gets a little fiddly at first, but work with it and you'll see it start to take shape.

Die cut pattern paper to fit the base and the top square.

Die cut a black circle to fit the card front, then die cut a smaller white circle.  

Using Lavinia stamps, stamp the Fairy Buttercups  and the Faerie Spells with Imagine Crafts Inks, then emboss with clear embossing powder.

Adhere to the card front.

The card folds flat for mailing.  Once the recipient opens the envelope, the card flips open and stands upright.
