Believe

JustRite's challenge 19 this week is to create a Christmas card and get a start on this year's cards.

I used the Harmony Classic Oval Stamper II Ensemble and stamped Believe to create a background for my images. I then embossed the Believe background with the Cuttlebug Christmas numbers embossing folder and, using my ink tool, I applied both Ranger Antique Linen and Worn Lipstick across the embossed cardstock. I then stamped Believe on a Nestabilities Fancy Tag and attached it with jeweled brads.

JustRite's challenge this week is to create something other than a card, so I create this little gift basket. StampTV had awesome baskets along with the directions for making them so I was hooked. I made a whole bunch for Mother's Day.

Friends

What do you get when you combine Prima goodness with GinaK stamps? An amazing card!!! I love this Prima paper and decided to cut out the birds and foliage to make it pop on my card. I embossed a sheet of Prism cardstock with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder and popped the cut out on top. Using GinaK's Friends stamp set, I stamped the sentiment on cardstock, then used my Nestabilities to cut it out. A little Stickles on the flowers and some Kaiser pearls on the sentiment were the finishing touches!!

Mr. & Mrs.

I decided to create a 2nd card for Justrite Stampers challenge this week. A different take on the sketch challenge. I used the "Mr. & Mrs." from the Harmony Classic Circle Stamper II set. I embossed some white cardstock, added a transparency on top and stitched it together. I used my Spellbinders dies for the frame.

I believe it is also a perfect card for the newlyweds to be at Simon Says Stamp - congrats to Domi and Uli.

You're the best Mom

It's another challenge at Justrite Stampers and this week it's a sketch challenge. Gotta love sketches for getting you to try something new!!! I flipped the sketch to get the look I wanted.





I used the hydrangea from the Thinking of You stamp set and colored it with my copics. Using Prima paper, I embossed it with the Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls embossing folder, then used the Quickutz Nesting dies to cut my image. The sentiment is an Inkadinkadoo stamp. Some Making Memories bling brads finished it off.

You Hold the Key

Scrapbookpal.com is holding a design team call and I am submitting this layout for the call. It features my very handsome nephew all dressed for his sister's wedding.

Scrapbookpal is a website that carries a huge amount of scrapbook products at very reasonable prices! Check out the store, they have a lot of new products to share.

I used the Cricut Sentimentals cartridge for my title and the flourish, then used the Cuttlebug Floral Screen embossing folder on each for some dimension. I used a Martha Stewart punch and my Fiskars Threading Water punch along the bottom edge. Autumn Leaves stamps were used as a faux stitch across the top of the layout. Hero Arts letter stamps finished the title and some Prima flowers nicely accented the flourish.

Challenge #35 at Cricutters Anonymous is to create a tag or bag. Once Upon A Princess has some really fun elements and this bag was one of them. I added a tag and the child's name. Wouldn't these be great as goodie bags as well as place settings?

Thinking of You

Justrite Stamp's challenge this week is to use any floral stamp from their sets. I used a stamp from Thinking of You Borders & Centers Oval to create my card. I then colored it with Copics.

Ranger Perfect Pearls

One set of products we worked with at Ranger U was using Perfect Pearls in so many different ways. I wanted to create a heritage type card, but didn't have the right background, so out came the Perfect Pearls. I first applied Perfect Medium to my script stamp and stamped it on white cardstock. Then using a paint brush I applied several different colors of Perfect Pearls across the words. The Perfect Pearls adhered to the words and provided a soft yet shimmery look. I die cut the cameo from the Cricut Heritge cartridge and added a pearl for dimension.











Since I had some left overs, I used the new Tim Holtz Sizzix flower die and die cut some flowers. I lightly inked the edges and combined them into one flower.

@ the Park

This is one of my latest layouts for Scrappin' Sports stuff . If you haven't checked out the store lately, you should. Not only do they have sports related papers and embellishments, they stock all types of themed products for any occasion.

I have always loved Hershey Park and we went a number of times when Chris was younger. Seeing those candy people always makes me smile.





Instructions
1. Use gray cardstock for base of layout
2. Cut Royal Metallic Grid Paper to 11” x 11” and adhere to cardstock
3. Cut a strip of Yellow Grunge Dot Paper 4” x 11” and adhere on top
4. Mount 2 photos on gray cardstock and adhere to the layout
5. Machine stitch the layers
6. Add a journaling card to the left side of the layout with brads
7. Assemble a number of cardstock stickers and clear cut out elements,adding them to the upper right and lower left sections of the layout
8. Die cut date from Cricut, Designer’s Calendar cartridge and the title from Cricut, Plantin cartridge

Thinking of You

PK Glitz has a sketch challenge this month so I created this card. I know it's a little early (or perhaps a little late, depending on your perspective), but I thought it fit their sketch very well. I first colored in my image with Copic markers then used my glue pen to add glue exactly where I wanted it, then poured on the glitter. Red Hot Chili Peper was used on the Pointsettia; Steel was used on the leaves and Gold was used around the edges. I also punched some pine branches which I also glued and ran through the Steel Glitter.

Times Like These

I created this layout for Scrappin' Sports stuff . If you haven't checked out the store lately, you should. Not only do they have sports related papers and embellishments, they stock all types of themed items for any occasion.

I love it when I can finally capture a great photo of my teenager. He makes it so difficult and usually turns away when I grab my camera. So I am thrilled it turned out so well and looks great as an oversized photo.





1. Use striped pattern paper as base of the layout
2. Mat oversized photo with green and black cardstock
3. Create a journaling block from black cardstock and white cardstock. Use a notebook
punch along the end of the black. Ink the edges of the white block and adhere to the
black.
4. Select a number of cardstock elements and mat them on black cardstock
5. Select several clear elements and arrange them on the layout with the cardstock elements
6. Cut date from Cricut,Designer’s Calendar cartridge,in green and black
7. Adhere fabric tag as the title on the lower right corner of the photo
8. Machine stitch the largest element to the layout and machine stitch the upper ight corner of the photo

Happy Birthday

It is so easy to create amazing cards when you have the right stuff to work with. I was recently playing with Cricut's Once Upon A Princess cartridge and came across this ice cream cone, so I just had to create a card. Using the Cuttlebug birthday embossing folder on my card, I added the ice cream cone and ice cream on top with Helmar's Zapdots to give it some depth. The cone was embossed with Diamond Plate and then gently folded to give it a rounded feel. Some stickles were added to the cherry on top.

April book challenge #2

A second card for Gina K Designs this month. This challenge was to create a card based on a children's book. Corduroy's Halloween is a sweet book about a bear and his pumpkin. I chose to create a card with the duck and his umbrella, from the Spring Has Sprung Set .

Gina K Designs has some amazing stamps this month and I did indulge. The challenge was to create a card based on a children's book. I have always loved The Market Square Dog by James Herriot and I pulled the colors from the cover as my inspiration. I used Spring Has Sprung Set .

Dance to the Music

I was playing with the Once Upon A Princess Cricut Cartridge last night. I love all the different features on this cartridge and the 3 included dolls. While it's labeled "Princess", don't let the title fool you. You have 3 girls to choose from and tons of different outfits. I used the Rocker girl for this card. Isn't she darling? Any my Kat stamp was perfect for this little chick



Oh, and there will be more projects from this cartridge, that's for sure.

Queen Kat

Today's challenge at the Castle was to create anything as long as we used an "older" Kat Stamp. Well, that's definitely easy to do with so many amazing stamps to choose from. I love the Child's Play stamp set and I wanted to create something different with them, so I created this notebook. It was a Christmas leftover, so I covered the front and back with cardstock, stamped my images several times on cardstock, then arranged them on the front cover. Hope you like it!!

Monday Monday

Hi everyone. It's another Monday here at the castle and this is my last project for Queen Kat as my term has now come to an end. It has been a fun ride and I have had so much fun working with these stamps. Thanks for the opportunity to work with your stamps Vicki, they truly are wonderful.

This week we were challenged to make a banner from any of Queen Kat stamps. And boy did I have fun with this one!! A friend had her baby shower a couple of weeks ago and I was in charge of making the banner. I used the hearts from Queen Kat's Ride with Me stamp set along the top of the banner. I then used Queen Kat's Doodles 2 stamps on the points of the banner. I then put some bling on them for some added sparkle.



I cut the banner from the Cricut Sports Mania cartridge and added toppers I cut with an EKSuccess punch. All my elements (the babies, the carriages, the bears, the safety pins, etc.) were cut from the Cricut, A Child's Year cartridge and Doodlecharms cartridge. Everything was inked then bling was added for a little sparkle. The lettering was cut from some amazing bling paper from the Cricut, A Child's Year cartridge also. Oh, and I made it double sided because you never know where it will hang!

Well, I do love the colors and the stripes, but I wanted something a little more subtle. I chose some striped Imaginesce pattern paper and my Alice along with some new Nestabilities. Love it..

I am now Copic Certified

Woohoo!!!!!!
I took an amazing Copic Certification class today with Sally Lynn Macdonald. What an amazing woman! The class was fun and very informative and we learned so many techniques that are sure to improve my coloring skills. I can't wait to pull out my stamps later tonite and play.

If you get a chance, I'd recommend you attend one of her classes.

I love the Vintage look of Graphic 45 papers. Couple that with a Cuttlebug embossing folder and you can create amazing cards. This card is for Couture cardstock's challenge for a vintage card.

Ranger University

I had the priviledge of being chosen to attend Ranger University this past weekend where 24 of us learned tips and tricks from Tim Holtz, Claudine Helmuth and Suze Weinberg. I had an amazing time and learned so much about the products I truly love to use. It was amazing and now I am a graduate of Ranger U.

This rose frame is one of the projects we created with Tim's new Sizzix Alterations flower dies, Grungeboard, Perfect Medium and Stickles.

New Challenge

SRM Stickers has a challenge up to pair chipboard with stickers, so I pulled out my Bazzill chipboard and Bazzill stickers and created this Thank you card. Of course I had to use a punch for a nice edging then a flower and brad.

Check out these goodies. It appears I entered a Bazzill Basics Basket Giveaway from All Americn Crafts Publishing and I won!!!!!!!!!!! I can't believe it, I've never won anything like this before. It was like Christmas morning opening all the packages. I received complete class kits for all the classes taught at CE. There was even an album in a box, a really cool CE green bag as their logo on a bottle of water!!! I can't even begin to tell you there is stuff from Heidi Swapp, Bazzill, Ranger, Tim Holtz and more.





I am still in shock and all I can say is THANK YOU!!!! I am going to have so much fun with my new goodies.

I loved the oranges and yellows and the fireplace aura so I created this card with the new Bon Voyage stamp set. I just love the hot air balloons!!!! I stamped them 3 times, colored in one with Copic Spica pens (love the sparkle), then cut it out and used pop dots to make it stand out.
