Flowering Etched Vase

Hi everyone.   Today I'm using  etchall® to etch a glass vase.  Etchall is a re-usable etching liquid with the consistency of water.  I simply placed my vase in a bowl of etchall to create an overall etched surface.

First, fill a bowl with etchall® dip 'n etch liquid and place the vase inside. Allow the vase to sit for approximately 15 minutes.  Remove the vase and rinse off.   Since etchall® dip 'n etch liquid is reusable, pour it back into it's original container.

Etching creates a pretty frosty etched surface on the vase.

I wrapped the flowers with red glittery tulle and place them inside the vase.

This is a quick and easy project that would be perfect for any upcoming event you are decorating for.

Planner Pages with Joy Clair

While this set was created for Bible journaling, this set of 6 stamps is quite diverse.  If you are a planner junkie, consider using these stamps in your planner.

Backgrounds with Gel Press

Hi everyone, it's a beautiful day and I'd love to share some cards I created with the Gel Press.

Have you tried using the Gel Press Monoprinting plates?  Gel Press plates come in a variety of sizes and you have the ability to create amazing designs.

Using the Gel plate and one stencil, I was able to create 2 different backgrounds.

I began by adding paint to the 6" x 6" plate.  Using a brayer, I spread the paint across the plate.  Then I placed a Prima stencil in the wet paint.  Placing white cardstock on top and using a clean brayer, I pulled this amazing print.

After cutting it to fit, I matted it with Bazzill cardstock then adhered May Arts ribbonaround the panel before adding it to the card.

The Memory Box Butterfly was die cut twice for dimension.  Hang in there, from Heartfelt Creations, finished off the card and was die cut with Spellbinders dies.

Since I still had paint on my Gel plate, I placed another piece of cardstock on top and again used the brayer to remove the remaining paint.  The negative print is just as pretty as the original.

I cut the panel to 5" x 5", then placed it onto a card created from Bazzill cardstock.

The owls are from Heartfelt Creation's Sugar Hollow stamp set and were stamped with brown ink on a large tag.  A little color was added with Zig markers.

Thinking of you is from Stamping Bella's Winnie Peeking out the Window.  Scrapbook Adhesives 3D squares were used to add dimension on the card.

Happy Birthday Suzy Blog Hop

Hi everyone, today we are celebrating Suzy's (So Suzy Stamps)  birthday with a surprise blog hop today.  As a member of the original So Suzy design team, I am so happy to be participating in wishing Suzy a Happy Birthday.

I'm using the Beautiful Cupcake sentiment - one of the first stamps I got from Suzy and it is still one of my favorites.  It works with so many other stamps as well as assorted pattern papers.

I had this lovely cupcake paper and knew the phrase would be a perfect fit.

Since I wasn't sure if Suzy would like a pink or a blue card, I decided to make one of each!  I just changed the orientation of each card.

Sweet Gift Bags

Hi everyone, I've been creating some some cute gift bags and you only need one sheet of double sided paper.

Double sided pattern papers such as those from Maja Designs are perfect for these gift bags because the papers are sturdy and will hold up to scoring, cutting and folding.

Step 1

Cut pattern paper 8" x 12".

Place the long edge along the Scor-Pal, score at  5", 6", 7".

This creates the base of the bag.

Step 2
Rotate and score at 1" and 7" creating the sides of the bag.
Cut in 1" along the scored lines at the bottom and remove this piece on both sides.
Accordian fold along the scored lines for the base.

Step 3

Fold along the 1" and 7" scored lines

Step 4
Place Scor-Tape along the sides and assemble the bag.

Step 5

Create a tag from the left over pattern paper.

Add a stamped sentiment on top and tie to the handles with May Arts Sheer White Ribbon.  I used Stamping Bella's Paulie has a Prezzie.

This paper is from the Vintage Baby collection.

 Next, I've created a more rounded bag.

To create the more rounded bag, follow steps 1 and 2.

Step 3

Add Scor-Tape along the edges of the sides.

Gently roll the paper to align the sides creating the rounded effect

Step 4

Create a tag from the left over pattern paper.

Add a stamped sentiment on top and tie to the handles with May Arts Sheer white Ribbon.

Keep Calm Upcycled Sign

Hi everyone, I am so tired of winter.  It's the middle of February and we just got another 12" of snow!!!!!  We have had our fill of snow so it's time to think spring with sunshine and flowers.

I began by sanding a wood sign with the Delta Sander.

Next I painted the sign with Plaid Folk Art Ultra Dye in Infra Red.  This dye brushes on smoothly and easily.

Once dry, I sanded it again to get a more rustic look.

Next I created a "vase" from an empty toilet roll, covering it in Transparent Paverpol.  Once dry, I painted it with Plaid Folk Art Milk Paint in Jamestown Blue.

Next, I used the Delta Jigsaw to clean up the edges of the "vase".

Finally, I added trim to the top and bottom of the "vase" and adhered it to the sign.

I created words from left over chipboard letters then randomly stamped flowers from Joy Clair Stamps  around the sign. 

A butterfly created from Rinea Foil was added atop the vase.  Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists were sprayed over the sign to add a little shimmer as the finishing touch.

There is nothing better than seeing the flowers bloom and this sign is sure to remind me that spring is not far away.

Let the Good TImes Roll with Joy Clair Stamps

 

 

Hi everyone, the Joy Clair design team is celebrating Mardi Gras by showing you some amazing creations with the Joy Clair Mardi Gras stamp set.  This stamp set contains  19 images and phrases - so many choices!   And each of us has created such very different cards.

 I chose to create a bright vibrant and cheey card with the set.

I found some hot pick cardstock, so I began by stamping the beaded stamp in black ink on the pink cardstock. 

Next I stamped the mask on white cardstock and colored the image with Clearsnap Smooch Accent Inks, then I die cut the image and matted it with pink then black cardstock.   Smooth Accent Inks come with a tiny brush that allows you to add color in the tiniest of areas so I was easily able to add some additional colors to the feathers. 

The phrase was stamped on white and added to a pink label which was added to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.

Sunset with Palms

Hi everyone, I've got a new post on the Just For Fun Rubber Stamps blog using the fabulous
scene sunset with palms and the coordinating sentiment:  to watch a sunset


The scene is so pretty and I can see myself sitting on the beach watching the sun go down.

My first card was created using Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities to create a circular card.  Once I stamped the scene, I die cut it with the next sized die, but first fussy cut the palm tree so the palms would not be cut off.

My next card is rectangular as opposed to circular, giving a different look to the card.  Here you see more of the image.  I colored the image slightly differently and added the sentiment off to the side.

Spring Birdhouses

Hi everyone, have you tried Rinea Foils yet?  If not, please stop by the store and the blog to see all the amazing projects you can create with Rinea Foils. 

I got this amazing Tutti Designs die called Birdhouse Collection.

 

This die is extremely intricate, but cuts beautifully.  Although I die cut from white cardstock, I added color with Copic Markers.  To dress up the birdhouses, I die cut 2 of them from Rinea Foils using the Red/Gold Glossy Foil.  No matter how intricate the die, Rinea Foils cut beautifully.

Star Wreath with the Bowdabra

Hi everyone, my newest project in on the Bowdabra Blog.  This month's theme was red, white and blue.

This star wreath can be displayed for so many different holidays – think Memorial Day, President’s Day, 4th of July, Labor Day.  You could even leave it out all summer.

I wrapped the Smoothfoam Wreath with navy blue ribbon and pinned the ribbon to the wreath to hold it in place.

Creating bows with the Bowdabra is easy.  Simple fold the ribbon and twist it as you place in the Bowdabra. 

Make as many loops as you want then pull up on the Bowdabra wire and tie it off to hold the shape.

Using the excess bow wire, tie the bow to the wreath.  Selecting assorted chipboard stars spritz with Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists.  Once dry, add chipboard stars and display.

Valentine's projects with Whisker Graphics

Hi everyone, I'm on the Whisker Graphics blog with some quick and easy projects for Valentine's Day.  Valentine's Day is next Tuesday, but you still have time to create some projects.

I created some mini cards measuring 3" x 3".  The white panels were cut a little smaller and I stamped a selection of stamps from the Candy Hearts stamp set from Joy Clair Stamps.  Once assembled, I wrapped Divine Twine Metallics - Rose Gold around each card.  The twine was just the right embellishment needed. 

I created banner strips for the next cards and used Divine Twine Metallics - Rose Gold to hang the banner strips.  Again, I used the Candy Hearts stamp set from Joy Clair Stamps on the banner strips. 

And Valentine's Day is the sweetest day of the year so you can't just give a card, you need to give some candy too.  I had these test tubes that fit small candy hearts perfectly so I embellished each with Divine Twine - Red Solid and Divine Twine - Cherry, wrapping the twines randomly around the test tubes.

I created little tags which I also stamped with a selection of stamps from the Candy Hearts stamp set from Joy Clair Stamps.  I added Solid Red and Cherry twines to the tags, then added the tags to the test tubes.

These are perfect little cards and treats to give your child's classmates and teachers.

Just a Note with Joy Clair Stamps

Hi everyone and welcome to a new month with Joy Clair stamps.  This month is all about water coloring. 

There are so many ways you can water color your creations  - don't think just paint and water!

Today, I'm using the new Aztec Background stamp set which I think is perfect for creating backgrounds.

I used an assortment of Gelatos with a baby wipe to create my background.
