Happy Birthday Cards

Hello everyone.  Today I am participating in an Anniversary Blog Hop with Crackerbox and Suzy stamps.

I've used this amazing Happy Birthday stamp and created 3 different cards.

For my first card, I wanted a feminine birthday card so I started by painting watercolor paints on a sheet of watercolor paper.  Cutting the paper to size, I embossed it with a Happy Birthday embossing folder and lightly inked over the embossed words.  The birthday phrase was also stamped on this paper with black ink.

The embossed panel was matted with pink cardstock then added to a brown card.  Ribbon and white was wrapped around the card, then the phrase was die cut and matted with 2 layers beforing being added to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.  Nuvo drops were scattered around the card.

My next card is a stark contrast in orange and white.

I started with a white card that was die cut along the bottom edge.  A panel of orange was also die cut then added atop the white card.

Orange twine was wrapped around the card.

The birthday phrase was stamped in 3 colors of VersaFine Clair inks, die cut and then matted with brown cardstock.  Foam adhesives were added to pop the phrase.

And finally, I had some left over papers I created with Brushos so I made a third card.

I wanted a really bright card so I used this panel and embossed it with the same Birthday embossing folder I used in card #1.  Then I lightly ran over the embossed words with a light brown ink.

The birthday phrase was stamped in black ink on white cardstock.  The black and white panels were  die cut with Lawn Fawn dies and added to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.

Inside I added this snarky statement which I think is perfect for someone special, don't you?

Spring is Here With Rinea Foiled Papers

Hi everyone, I've got a new card to share using Rinea Foiled Papers.  Do you know that Rinea has a new color - it's called Arctic and comes in both Arctic Starstruck and Arctic/Gold Glossy.

With a few supplies, this card came together quickly.  I created a card from green cardstock and added a panel of brown on top.  Next, I die cut Arctic Starstruck for the top layer.

I die cut Violet Starstruck and Lavender Starstruck with a wonderful butterfly die from Spellbinders dies.  I used the Violet layer as the base, then I cut apart some Lavender butterflies and added them randomly to the base.   Between the butterflies, I placed some dew drops from the Robin's Nest.

The phrase is from Joy Clair's Easter Greetings stamp set and it was stamped on Arctic Foil with StazOn Pigment Ink which is the perfect ink for foil as it does not smear.

I die cut the panel with Lawn Fawn dies, added it to a larger mat and placed it on the card with foam adhesives for dimension.  Several more dew drops and butterflies were added.

French Cottage Card with Heartfelt Creations

Hi everyone, I was thrilled to win the entire French Cottage Collection from Heartfelt Creations this month.  What an amazing collection - it contained a beautiful paper pad, three stamp sets and three coordinating dies.

The paper pad includes papers to be used for card fronts as well as elements that can be die cut with the coordinating dies.  If you don't want to color images, you can simply die cut them from the papers.

I stamped the door twice on two different shades of beige cardstock using mahogany ink.  Using the coordinating dies, I cut apart the doors.  All the pieces were inked with mahogany ink.

Creating a card from red cardstock, I placed the lighter panel and the filigree panel on the card.  Then I added the door and door frame using the darker elements.

Using Rinea Foiled Papers in Jade/Gold Glossy and Fuchsia/Gold Glossy, I die cut the leaf spray and both sizes of flowers using StazOn Chocolate Brown Pigment Ink.  This ink does not smear when stamping on foiled papers.

I used the coordinating dies to die cut the leaf spray and flowers.

Next, I used the Heartfelt Creations Flower Shaping Tool to shape the leaf spray and flowers.

I adhered the leaf spray around the door frame, then placed the flowers.  The bicycle, flower spray and satchel were die cut directly from the paper pad - how fun is that!

Finally, I added glossy accents to the door knob and knocker.

I have not yet added a sentiment inside as I don't know yet who will be getting this card.  Alternatively, I may just keep it!!!!

What do you think?

Thanks for stopping by.

Mixed Media Travel Album

Hi everyone, I'm on the Clear Scraps blog with a Mixed Media Travel Album using the Mixable Lovely Album.

This album is a combination of acrylic and chipboard panels in a variety of shapes.

Remember to remove the plastic covering on the acrylic pieces before adding your papers and embellishments.   The beauty of the Mixable Albums is that you can create them any way you desire by using all the pieces or not.

Going with a travel theme, I used papers from Stamperia's Around the World collection to create my album.

Some of the papers were cut to fit the pages.  Some papers were torn and assembled together on the pages.  Pockets were created to add more space for pictures and journaling.  Tags were inked and added about the album.  Assorted metal embellishments were placed about the album.

Additional tags were included as pages for more journaling opportunities.  Die cut words were added to the front cover and on various pages inside the album.

I will be traveling this year and think this album will be a fun way to document my upcoming trip.

Thanks for stopping by.

Faerie Banner with Rinea Foils

Hi everyone, I'm on the Rinea blog with a Fairy banner using Poppystamps dies.

For the fairy banner, I used Misfits Foiled Paper Pack which contained all the colors I wanted for my banner.  The Misfits Packs contain twice the quantity of foiled papers as the regular packs due to minor imperfections in the foils which are barely noticeable.

Poppystamps has an amazing selection of Faeries dies.  I used Nimble Faeries, die cutting 5 different colored faeries in Violet, Jade, Fuschia, Blush and Lavender.

I die cut wings from Gold/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper.  Look how delicate they are and how amazing they look with the foils.

I created banner pieces from Gold/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper and Silver Starstruck.  For support, I found a set of faux leather banner pieces in my stash and used them as the base for the banner.

Adhering the foil banner pieces together, I placed them atop the faux leather banner pieces which were assembled with brads.

The faeries were placed on each banner and the wings were slipped behind each.

What little girl wouldn't love this banner in her room!

Lavinia World Challenge #25

Hi everyone, it's time for the next challenge at Lavinia World Challenges.  Please check it out and join in the fun.

Stamp Skip and a Jump on white cardstock and color with Distress Inks.  Then fussy cut the image.

Do a paint pour technique on a mini canvas using Mod Podge and various colors of Plaid Paints.  Once dry, use a TCW Stencil, add modeling paste randomly about the canvas.

Select an assortment of embellishments to decorate the canvas.  I added chipboard pieces, ticket stubs, wood and metal gears gluing them randomly about the canvas.  Select a word charm and add to the corner of the canvas.

Mat the fairy with cardstock to create a border around her.  Adhere her to the canvas with foam adhesives for dimension.  Finish by adding stickles to her wings.

Finally add random drops of glue and sprinkle chunks of glitter over the canvas.  Allow to dry thoroughly, then tap off the excess glitter.

Would love to see what you create for Challenge #25The winner of the challenge will receive a
$15 gift certificate to Lavinia World to shop for more goodies.   Remember there is a new challenge every other Thursday.  Can't wait to see what you create.
