Time to reflect

It's time for another CHF challenge and this week Michele has asked us to use a die cut on our cards.

I really love the Backgrounder rubber stamps - there are so many possibilities when using these stamps.

I created the background for my card using the Gingham Backgrounder.   Seeking a distressed look, I inked the stamp with Ranger Wild Honey and Rusty Hinge Distress Inks.  I then stamped several clocks from A Time to Stamp  in black ink.  Wanted a more distressed look, I then crinkled the paper and ran the Rusty Hinge ink pad over the crinkled areas.  I then tore the edges and inked the torn edges of the paper with Rusty Hinge and Walnut Ink.

Because the white card was just too stark, I also inked it with Walnut Ink before adding my torn elements.

Using Spellbinders dies, I die cut white and orange cardstock.  Time was stamped on white cardstock and the die was inked with Ranger Walnut Ink before adding to it's larger mate.  "to reflect" was also stamped on white cardstock and inked before matting with cardstock.  Both elements were added to the ard with foam adhesives for some dimenstion.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill
Stamps: CHF
Ink: Ranger
Dies: Spellbinders

Scor-pal blog post

I hope you've been checking out the amazing projects this week created by the Scor-pal design team.   We had the pleasure of working with papers from Simple Stories this month.

Here's a sneak peak of my project that's posted on the Scor-pal Blog today.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Happy Valentine's Day

I have another card posted on the Classy Cards n Such blog today and I used this awesome  Flower Corner 1 embossing folder from Nellie Snellin.  This embossing folder is just the right size for the cards I create, being almost 6" tall.  It is very detailed and lends itself to so many possibilities.

The sentiment is from the Hugs & Kisses stamp set by Justrite Stampers and I stamped it directly on the card front.  This 25 piece stamp set is full of sentiments that you can use time and again.

I chose to "color" the flowers with Twinkling H2Os in the following colors:
Spanish Moss, Ice, Hunter Gray, Spiced Pumpkin, and Bolivian Blue

Using a Tim Holtz Water Brush, I picked up the colors and painted my flowers.   Some flowers were painted inside the embossed areas and some were painted along the embossed areas.

Once I finished painting, I inked around the piece, then matted it with brown cardstock.  I used  Joy Foam Adhesives to add some dimension to the card.

Thanks for stopping by today.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill
Embossing Folder:  Nellie Snellen
Stamp: Justrite Stampers
Coloring Medium: Twinkling H2Os

I Love U

With all the fun surrounding CHA, I completely forgot to post this card.  It was posted on the Classy Cards n Such blog last week.

I used beautiful papers from Trimcraft's Love Letters 6" x 6" paper pad, matting each with brown cardstock.  Doodlebug makes some awesome Doodle Twine that coordinated perfectly with this paper line so I wrapped it around the left side of the card.

Several sheets of paper contained postage stamp alphabet letters, so I cut them apart to spell "I love U" which I also matted with brown cardstock and adhered to the front of the card.

Joy Foam Adhesives were used under the letters "I" and "U" to add a little more dimension.

Thanks for stopping by today and be sure to check out the Store to pick up all the products I used on this card.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill
Pattern paper:  Trimcraft
Twine: Doodlebug

Beautiful

Cornish Heritage Farms has some amazing stamps. If you've not visited the Store in awhile, you are in for a treat!  I love the red rubber stamps and there are so many digis to work with.

Using the Gingham Backgrounder, I inked it with Ranger Walnut Distress Ink.  The Backgrounder stamps are perfect for covering the front of cards and since I love creating larger cards, the Backgrounder stamps make it so easy.  I was going for a distressed look so portions of the card were not inked.

Onto pink cardstock, I stamped several stamps from Ornamental Beauty in Walnut Ink as well as inked the edges.  The sentiment was added with foam adhesives for dimension.  I used Zig's Wink of Stella pens to add a little glitter to the corner pieces.  A few pearls softened the card somewhat.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill
Stamps: Cornish Heritage Farms
Ink: Ranger Distress Ink
Pearls: Want2scrap
Markers: Zig

Sending Love To You

A blog post last week for Classy Cards n Such.

The Store  has some awesome products and I used this  Ladies & Gents Trendsetters pattern paper by Webster's pages.  I love the look of the cups and roses layered together in the corner.

I did trim the paper slightly to fit my card front, then  inked the edges with black ink and matted it with black cardstock before adhering it to the card.  I stamped both sentiments from Justrite Stampers Hugs & Kisses stamp set.  This stamp set has tons of options.  The upper sentiment was cut to fit within the Spellbinders Fancy Tags Two die and I placed Joy Foam Adhesives  under it to help it stand out.

Using Romantic Rectangles, I placed it to the left of the cups and added another sentiment from Justrite Stampers Hugs & Kisses stamp set.  After stamping  "Happy Valentine's Day", I cut the words apart so I could fit them within the rectangle.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill
Pattern paper: Webster's Pages
Stamps:  Justrite Stampers
Dies: Spellbinders
Ink: Clearsnap

Prickley Pear Blog Hop

Prickley Pear is having a post-CHA blog hop and you are all invited.  Stop by the Designer's blogs below and leave a comment for your chance to win a new stamp set from Prickley Pear.

This stamp set is one of the new ones coming out.  There are 4 different crosses, 2 small elements and 7 coordinating phrases which are perfect for Baptism and Christening.

The coordinating cross die is awesome too.  Just die cut the cardstock, then line up your stamp on the die cut for a perfect image every time.

In addition to the cross die, there is a smaller die (shown above) which coordinates with this set and can be used in so many different ways.

Remember, there will be a winner from this blog hop so be sure to stop by each of the Designer's blogs:

Prickley Pear Blog Hop

Hello from CHA.  This is my first time at Winter CHA and I have been having so much fun meeting up with crafty friends and finding new ones.   The only problem is that it's colder here in Anaheim, California than it is in New York - so not fair!!!

Today the Prickley Pear design team has coordinated a blog hop and we are showcasing their newest stamps which are debuting at CHA.

These 2 projects use the same awesome rabbit stamp with very different results.

 cha - Happy Birthday

This next project is a candy bag that I created with  my Cricut Expression.    The rabbit was stamped on white cardstock and cut out.

cha - Easter Bunny

We will be giving away a prize to a random commenter each day, so please visit each of the designer's blogs and comment on each post.  Then head back to the Prickley Pear blog  and leave a comment there.

Celebrate

This is today's post at the Rubber Buggy.   I've used Little Tilda from the Little Christmas Collection a number of times,  but knew I could do so much more with her, so I thought I'd create a birthday card.

I embossed the background with the Happy Birthday Cuttlebug embossing folder, then added a large circle on top.  I colored her with Copic Markers and added a little glitter to her wings.

Supplies:
Cardstock: Bazzill
Embossing Folder: Cuttlebug
Markers: Copic Markers
Stamp: Magnolia, Stampavie

Happy Birthday

I've got another card up today on the Classy Cards n Such blog.

I started with some beautiful papers from Webster's Pages.  The sentiment is from Justrite Stampers Spring Words. This stamp set consists of 20 detailed stamps that can be used for so many different projects and is quickly becoming a favorite of mine. I stamped the sentiment on a left over scrap of paper from Webster's Pages.

The Posy Patch Garden Delights stamp set by Heartfelt Creations is a pre-cut stamp set consisting of three beautifully detailed stamps. I chose the watering can with Posies, coloring it with Copic Markers, then  I carefully cut it out.  Needing to place a mat behind my stamped image, I selected one of Spellbinder's dies, Labels Eighteen, die cutting the largest die from a beautiful piece of Super Gold Metallic paper and a smaller die from brown cardstock.  The image was then added to the card with Joy Foam Adhesives for dimension.

Check out all the products Bev sells at Classy Cards n Such. She has some beautiful products in stock.

Supplies:
Cardstock:  Bazzill
Pattern paper:  Webster's Pages
Dies: Spellbinders
Stamps: Heartfelt Creations
Ink: Memento
Markers: Copic Markers

You are missed

This week's challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms  is to use a Thomas Kinkade stamp.

The details are amazing on these stamps.  I used Skater's Pond, choosing to stamp it in black on blue cardstock.  I found it's easy to get the best results if you use a very wet ink pad.  I used Clearsnap's Chalk Ink,  which is a rich, moist ink.  Positioning the cardstock on top of the inked stamp and applying even pressure afforded me this awesome look.  I love the shadow effect I was able to achieve.

To add a touch of color, I used Smooch Ink in the windows and the lamp post.  To add a little glitter, I used Smooch Glitz on the pond and in the trees.

Don't forget to stop by everyone's blog to see what they've done with this week's Thomas Kinkade stamps.

Wishing you peace and joy

Happy New Year.

This 3D window pane set from  Globecraft Memories is awesome.  2 layers of panes can be added together to create an amazing effect.

I used Mardi Gras Embossing Powder on the bottom frame and Poodle Skirt Embossing Powder on the top frame, coating each piece twice.

I adhered the two pieces together with The Best Glue Ever from Scraperfect and used alligator clips to hold the pieces together.

While waiting for the pieces to adhere, I die cut two sizes of a candle scene using my Cricut Expression and A Quilted Christmas Cartridge.  Placing the windows atop my candles, I was able to determine exactly where I wanted the window panes to sit.

After creating my card, I stamped a sweet sentiment on cardstock and place it on the card before adding the window.  I used The Best Glue Ever  to adhere the window to the card.   I added some Gold Stickles on the tops of the candles so they appear to glow through the window panes.

Beauty...

Happy New Year!!!!

It's challenge time again at CHF and we've been challenged to create a card without using red and green.  Since we are beginning a new year, I thought pink and brown would be a nice combination to start the new year.

I created a background for my card using the Gingham Backgrounder.  This stamp is large enough to cover the entire front of a 5" x 6" card, or you can ink up the stamp and use a part of it as I did here.  I wanted the sentiment to stand out by not covering the entire card front.

The elements are from the Ornamental Beauty stamp set.  I stamped the large flower twice, inked the bottom layer with Walnut Ink and the top layer with Antique Linen.  I die cut a circle of pink for the top, then die cut 2 sentiment from this set to add on top.  The top sentiment was added with foam adhesives for dimension.
