Flower Thanks

Hi everyone, I'm on the Just For Fun blog with a Thank you card.

I created a card from kraft cardstock, then added a checked background on top for a spring look.  Then I used the Jar Daisies stamp, coloring them with Memento Markers.

Once I fussy cut the flowers, I wrapped them with twine and added them to the card with foam adhesives.

Thanks was die cut from brown cardstock using a Spellbinders die, then added to the card.

Thanks for stopping by.

Floral Headband with Bowdabra

Hi everyone, I'm on the Bowdabra blog with a new headband
Bowdabra Floral Headband

Supplies:
Mini Bowdabra Bow Making Tool
Bowdabra Bow Wire - Gold Ribbon
Flower
Headband

Begin by folding approximately 18" of Gold Bow Wire in half. Place it in the Bowdabra. Fold in under the Bowdabra so it's out of your way while creating the bow.

Bowdabra Floral Headband

Cut a 24" length of green glitter ribbon and place in the Bowdabra channel. This will be used to wrap around the headband once the bow has been made.

 Bowdabra Floral Headband

Create a 3 looped bow with the green glitter ribbon, twisting the ribbon on each pass.

Bowdabra Floral Headband

Use the bow wand to push the bow into the Bowdabra.

Bowdabra Floral Headband

Cut 5 strips of checked ribbon at 6" each. Place each piece in the Bowdabra. Use the bow wand to push them into the Bowdabra.

Bowdabra Floral Headband

Pull up on the bow wire and tie off.

Bowdabra Floral Headband

Find the center of the headband then wrap the 24" length of ribbon around the headband. Add a flower to the bow using floral wire to hold it in place. Then use the bow wire to tie the bow to the headband.

Etching Butterflies

It's the end of February, but it still feels like winter.  We had a beautiful day recently and it got me thinking about Spring so I created a jar of butterflies using etchall dip 'n etch liquid.

Place butterfly stickers on the jar.  Burnish them to be sure they are fully adhered.

Fill the jar with stones to weigh it down in the dip 'n etch.

Allow the jar to sit 15 minutes in the dip 'n etch.

Etchall is reusable so pour the dip 'n etch back into its original container.  Dip 'n etch starts out clear and once it's exposed to air and heat, it tends to darken; however, that does not imped it's etching abilities.  As you can see my dip 'n etch is quite dark.

Rinse the etched jar and pat dry.

To finish, add a strip of ribbon around the edge and flowers on top.

I'm not yet sure what I'll put in my butterfly jar, but it's got me thinking of Spring.

Altered Mug with Marabu Paints

No automatic alt text available.

Hi everyone, I am participating in the Designer Crafts Connection blog hop.  This month we are working with porcelain and glass paints from Marabu.

I used a Stencilgirl stencil with paints and a paint pen from Marabu.

Using Etchall Stencil Spray on the back of the stencil allowed the stencil to easily adhere to the mug.  Then I simply added paint using a finger dauber.

Finally, I used a paint marker to add a simple design around the stenciled image.

Marabu will give away (US only) a nice random assortment of products (approx retail value $75) in a Facebook prize drawing that will be posted on the DCC facebook page.  All you need to do is comment to enter!!

Jug of Flowers

Hi everyone, I'm on the Rinea blog with a floral canvas.  Did you know that Rinea has a set of dies for making their stars?  Read on to see how I used the star dies.

Using the Rinea Star Dies, I die cut dies #1 and dies #2 from the new Love Foiled Paper Variety Pack-Glossy Blush/Gold, Glossy Fucshia/Gold and Starstruck Fuschia.  I rolled edges of the dies and glued them together with Helmar Glue.  Then I added Flower Soft in the centers of each flower.

I die cut the jug from Silver/Silver Glossy Foiled Paper using my Cricut.  I had the pressure setting on medium and the speed setting on high.

I inked around the canvas panel with Delicate Rose Gold Ink.  Using Spellbinders dies, I die cut leaf flourishes from  Jade/Glossy Gold Foiled Papers and Emerald/Emerald Starstruck Foiled Papers.

I embossed the jug with a Cuttlebug embossing folder, then adhered the jug to the canvas with foam adhesives for dimension.   I glued the leaf flourishes around the jug using Helmar glue.

I folded some of the leaves down so they covered the jug.

Then I placed the flowers over the leaves.  Finally, I added additional leaves around the jug to fill in the empty spaces.

What do you think?  This is another way to use the Star Dies in a different manner.  Don't they make wonderful flowers?  I hope you give them a try.

Valentine's Day Tags with RInea Foils

Hi everyone, Happy Valentine's Day!

Rinea Foiled Papers are amazing foils that hold up to embossing, die cutting and punching.

What do you think of details achieved with this embossing folder?

And this one?

The foils can be punched easily for stunning results too.

For more stability, I matted the tags with cardstock, then added ribbons, flowers and stamps.
