Beauty

Hi everyone, it's time for a new challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms.  Kristine has asked us to create a card with our favorite die cuts or punches.

I chose to work with Laura, coloring her with Zig Markers before die cutting her with Spellbinders oval dies.

The sentiment is from the Ornament Beauty stamp set.

Happy Valentine's Day

Hi everyone, I'm so thrilled to be a part of the Ann Butler design team.

Since it's Valentine's Day, I wanted to show you a card I created using Ann Butler's stamps from Unity Stamps and her inks from Clearsnap.  Ann has quite a few assorted sized faux quilting rubber stamps at Unity as well as an assortment of clear stamps at Kellycraft.  I love them all!

I stamped several rows of the 1" stamps using Berry Ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder.  These inks are very wet and have a longer drying time than most inks, so you can stamp what you need then add the embossing powder.  I positioned several heart dies about the stamped images and die cut them.  I also die cut several solid pink hearts and inked the edges of all pieces before continuing.

Using the Sizzix Hearts Flip-its by Stephanie Barnard, I created the card from pink cardstock.  This die not only die cuts the card, but also provides the scoring lines.  Love it!  The Sizzix Framelits Hearts perfectly match the Flip-it die and I stacked them on the card, inserting an inked and embossed Basically Bare chipboard arrow between the layers.  To fit the arrow how I wanted it on the card, I cut it apart before adding it to the card.

Two smaller hearts were adhered to the flipping heart and a stamped strip was added to the base of the card with a sentiment on top.

The ribbon just added a finishing touch.

Oh Happy Day!

Good morning everyone. For today's challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms, I would love to see your summer themed cards! We are in the middle of winter here.  It's cold and dreary and we are all dreaming of the summer months to come. Today, I decided to share a summer themed card as I am one of those people dreaming of summer!!!!!

I used the Palm Trees digital stamp, and die cut it into a fun shape.  I paired this with some awesome Graphic45 papers.

The sentiment is from Script Essential Expressions, which is a stamp set containing 56 words and phrases!

Does it feel like summer  yet?

Don't forget to stop by everyone's blog today for more inspiration.

Valentine's Day with Sunflowerfield

Check out this digital image from Sunflowerfield - they have tons of fabulous products in the store.

With Valentine's Day approaching, the first challenge at Sunflowerfield is Valentine's Day/Hearts.  I thought this digital image would be fun to work with.  Her name is Enna with a Love Letter and she can be found  here.

*NEW* Enna with a Love Letter - Designed by Vanja Stevanović for Sunflowerfield Designs

I created a 5 1/2" square card and enlarged the digital image so that it fit my card front.  But in doing so, I cut off her legs and that is the fun of digital images - you can customize them.

I colored her with Copics and fussy cut her before adding to an embossed background.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to check out the challenge here.

Christmas Shadow Box

Hey everyone.  I had several projects showcased at the Basically Bare's booth at CHA and this Winter Shadow Box was one of them.  It was recently shown on the  Basically Bare Blog  and is one of my favorite projects.

I created the shadow box from a sheet of 12" chipboard.  I built up the interior to simulate a room, adding Graphic 45 pattern papers to create a "living room" appearance.   Curtains were created from vellum and scored with the Scor-Pal to create pleating.  A valance was created using a Spellbinders Border Die.  The Christmas lights were created using Spellbinders dies and Stickles on top.

A Sizzix die cut tree was added atop a doily and stickles added on top.  Several of the frame cut outs were inked, cut, and tied with ribbons to simulate packages.

A felt owl embellie was used to create a snowman.  I simply cut off it's ears, added a hat and pipe, some Dew Drops and May Arts ribbon for a scarf.  So cute!!!

A Marvy Uchida Snow Marker was added to the frame and the snowman  then heat set to create the look of snow about the shadow box.

I hope you have a chance to play with the Window Frame.  There are so many options to create with it!!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Friends are Special Treasures

Hey everyone, Scor-Pal is now hosting monthly challenges.  Our first challenge is for you to create a project with more than one fold.  So, create anything with more than one fold and enter it in the challenge.

Here's my card:

Start out with paper cut 5 1/2" x 11".
Double sided cardstock works really well for this type of card.
With the long edge across the top, score at 2 3/4' and 5 1/2".

Fold on the score lines creating the easel
Add another piece of 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" paper on the scored section.

Decorate as desired.
I added 3 Spellbinders oval, inking each and added foam adhesives to the middle oval.
Stamp and color image with Copic Markers.
Fussy cut and add her to the card with foam adhesives.

Stamp and emboss sentiment.
Add to card base with foam adhesives allowing the card to stand.

Thanks for stopping by today and don't forget to enter your card in this month's challenge.

Have an Awesome Day

It's a new challenge at Oozak.  We need to use white plus one other color.

I chose red and white and the Authentique papers were perfect for this challenge.

The hearts were die cut using Spellbinders dies.  They were adhered together then placed on the card with foam adhesives for dimension.  The sentiment is Justrite's Grand Sentiments stamped in red and embossed with clear embossing powder.

Thanks for stopping by today.
