Happy Birthday

I can't believe that my son turns 16 today!!! Where has the time gone????

Using some new stamps from myStamp BOX, I created this fun birthday card.

I used the new Pennants stamp set, using the plain pennants for the numbers. I stamped the happy birthday pennant and added it to the card with pop dots and then used a sentiment from the Mention It stamp set on the strip.




On the inside I used the new Graphic Borders stamp set, which are a really fun addition to the myStampBOX collection. These borders can be joined to make them as long as you need them. I chose to stamp the border on the blue paper, then cut around it and mounted it on the yellow paper for a funky look. Another stamp from the Mention It stamp set was used as the interior sentiment.

Happy Anniversary

This week's challenge at Justrite Stampers is to create a card with a theme of love, wedding or anniversary.

Using a stamp from Beautiful Blossoms I stamped the flower twice and colored it with Copic markers. I cut out the central flower and one leaf, adding them back with pop dots for some dimension.



Using my Scor-Pal, I folded the cardstock into sections and added pattern paper to each section.


I used the Happy Anniversary sentiment from Celebration Demi Phrases stamp set on the inside of my card.



Directions:
For the flower panel, cut white cardstock 2 1/2" x 3"
Stamp flower and color with Copic markers
Stamp a second flower and cut it apart, using pop dots to adhere the flower and leaf on the main image
Lightly shadow around the flower with a yellow marker
Score 1/4" around the edge of the image
Mat with red cardstock
Cut black cardstock into an 8" square
Using Scor-Pal, scor the cardstock at 4"
Turning the cardstock on an angle, score diagonally through 2 sections
Turning the cardstock again, score through 1 section
On this section, make two score marks across the 2 sides, each 1/4" apart
Cut white cardstock into 3 3/4" squares
Place one on the base
Cut the other two in half
Ink edges with Walnut Ink
Cut pattern paper into 3 1/2" squares
Place one on the base
Cut the other two in half
Ink edges with Walnut Ink
Adhere
Stamp Happy Anniversary on a 3" square of cardstock
Add 3 flowers with brads
Adhere
Add flower image to the top of the fold, adding rhinestones in the corner
Cut base of card from white cardstock 4 1/2" square
Score 1/8" around all edges
Ink with Walnut Ink
Cut 18" of ribbon and center on card base
Adhere card
Wrap ribbon around card to seal

Friends Canvas

I love altering and lately I've been playing around with canvases. I love the look of creating a layout on canvas - there are so many options and so much that can be done with canvas. Working with Tattered Angels Glimmer Screens, Adirondack Color Washes and assorted punches, I absolutely love how this canvas turned out.




Lay Glimmer Screens on canvas and spray assorted colors lightly over screens
Allow to dry for a few moments, then move screens and spray again, if desired
Lightly spray Color Washes on 2 flowers
Blot excess ink if necessary
Cut a 7” circle from cream cardstock
Punch around the edges with Kreaxions punch #922
Lay on canvas behind photo
Add a paint strip to the right side of the canvas under the photo with wet glue
Cut Friendship Recipe to fit and distress edges
Lightly ink with Walnut Ink
Mat with brown cardstock
Adhere to left side of canvas, slightly under photo with wet glue
Turn canvas over and add pressure to help the wet glue set
Punch an 8” strip of cream cardstock with Martha Stewart Doily border punch
Add atop the paint strip with brads through canvas
Adhere photo
Punch a strip of cream cardstock with Kreaxions punch #903
Use the negative piece, lightly inking all edges
Add to coordinating strip of cardstock and adhere just under photo
Die cut Friends at 1 ¾” from A Child’s Life cartridge (font, shift + toys1) with coordinating cardstock
Die cut label at 2 ½” from A Child’s Life cartridge (label + toys1) with brown cardstock
Add Friends to label and adhere to canvas
Add brad over the “i” through the canvas
Die cut butterflies from cream cardstock and emboss with Cuttlebug embossing folder
Lightly ink with Walnut ink OR Color Washes and add with pop dots
Add flowers to canvas with brad just above doily

I found there was not enough color in the upper left corner, so I placed a screen on the canvas and lightly inked a portion with Walnut Ink

It has been crazy around here - we have seen more snow than we've seen in decades and it's still coming. But in some respects, that is ok, because it allows me more time to create!!!!

I've been working with MSB stamps and came across some fabric paper I'd forgotten about. This paper was perfect for the Neighborhoods stamp set so I went off to create a card. Of course, my Nestabilities always come in handy when creating, so I used the circle, scalloped circle, square, and label.



After cutting my square, I embossed it with the Script Cuttlebug embossing folder and lightly inked it. The AI image was colored with copic markers



The Welcome sentiment is from MyStampBox and the Home sentiment is from Outlines. I used just the word "Home" on the front of the card.

Best Friends mini album

Here's another mini album I made. I love making these albums and am having fun with my Kreaxions punches. This time, I used the wonderful Circle Cutter to create all the pages in my album. Christmas Cards

At Scrappin Sports this month, there are tons of fabulous projects to see.

I found some awesome papers in the store and created Christmas cards. Using an assortment of papers from the store, I was able to create some lovely cards. Don’t be afraid to mix up your papers and use them for a variety of projects. The green Reminisce striped paper, for example, is a sports themed paper. The opposite side is full of sports words. While I purchased this paper with the intention of using it for a sports layout, it was perfect to use for my Christmas cards.

SNOW

My new design team project at SIWL this month was to work with chunky SNOW letters. With all the snow we've had here these last 2 months, these letters were quite appropriate. I can't tell you how much fun I had creating with these letters. Check out the Deb's shop to see all the fun creations she has there.

The papers are DCWV. The snowflake paper is embossed. I stamped assorted snowflakes from MyStampBOX on this paper. Then I stamped a snowman and cut him out and placed him on the letter "S".


I used Basic Grey rub-ons on each letter. In the center of some of the snowflakes, I placed little glass gems.

I love the snowflake instead of the usual "O". I put the year on the lower edges so I'll remember this snowfall.

I used Spellbinders Nestabilities to cut the circles around the rub-on snowflakes. Then used my Cricut Expression and the new Winter Lace cartridge to cut the snowflakes that I placed behind the rub-on snowflakes.

Happy Birthday

I just got my new Kreaxion punches. After taking those babies out of the box, I fell in love with this one, #913. I punched it along the bottom edge of my card without the inserts to create a new look. It provides s a very pretty punched edge and it is so quick to create just the perfect card for a friend.

Happy Birthday Card

There are lots of fun projects on MyStampBOX blog today showcasing the use of numbers or letters. I chose to work with the Colour Me Alphabet to create the background for my card. Once stamped, I embosssed it with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder. I lightly inked the edges with Walnut Ink, then added chipboard elements in the lower corner.

Friends mini album

One of the great things about Kreaxion punches is that you can do anything you want with them, from creating cards to layouts to altered items. On the front cover of this mini album, I used punch # 915 with the "C" insert to create the corners. Then I added a rhinestone to the punched corner for a little bling. Another Justrite Stamp set - Thinking of You - used in conjunction with my Spellbinders dies - a perfect match made in heaven. I stamped the sentiment with Memento Bamboo ink onto a soft yellow cardstock, then added some colored pencils and Spica pen for bling.

You're So Sweet

I created this card I by rummaging through my stash. With Valentine's Day now on the horizon, Punch #911 is the perfect punch for creating cards and layouts. Whether you use it as an accent or a border, as I have, this punch has so many possibilities. I chose to use it without the inserts as I wanted to create a long border for my card. This punch adds just the right effect to my card. Just add some flowers and a sentiment or two from MyStampBox and you are done very quickly with an awesome card.

Happy Birthday OR Happy Valentine's Day

This card has so many possibilities - whether it be for a birthday card, Valentine's Day card or Thinking About You card. It uses 3 different Justrite Stamp sets - Hamony Classic Circle Set for the butterflies; Stitched With Love for the card's center and the flower on the inside; Celebrations Demi Phrases for the sentiment. I touched up the flowers with Spica pens for a little shimmer and shine. All images were die cut with Spellbinders Nestabilities dies. Ink is Warm Red by Colorbox. The card front was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.

I recently tried out for the Imaginisce DT. Unfortunatley I didn't make the new DT, but I do love this layout of my son, playing his favorite sport.

Using my beloved Kreaxions punches, I created this Christmas card using punch 907 with insert "B". After stamping my image, I die cut it with Spellbinders, Nestabilities and then I created rectangles to hold my image. Punch 907 was used on the corners.

Gingerbread Christmas

Today's post at Blackleaf Studios shows how easy it is to create custom cards when using digi images because you can print them in any size you want. Many times, I've stamped an image and really wanted something larger, so I'm finding digis are a big help.

I used the background paper and the gingerbread house from the new Christmas collection. I knew the size of my card was going to be 5" x 6 1/2" so I printed my striped paper at 5" x 7". Then I printed the gingerbread house at 3 1/2".



I mounted the striped paper on brown cardstock and adhered that to my card. Then I colored the gingerbread house with water color pencils and markers, matted it on brown cardstock and added it to the card front. The sentiment was added just to the right to finish off my card.

Snowman Gift Bag

Well, it's just about time for Christmas, and it's time to finish those last minute gifts. And what about the wrapping? The wrapping is just as important as the gift itself.

Several months ago, I discoverd Elizabeth O. Dulemba through Justrite Stampers. Elizabeth is a children's book author and illustrator who creates some amazing artwork. If you visit her blog, she allows you to download images she has created. Her artwork is amazing.

I decided I wanted to decorate a gift bag so I chose to use Elizabeth's Snowman image, and, of course, I had to use my Copic markers on the Snowman and the background.



I created a large snowflake with my Cricut Expression and the Winter Lace cartridge. Laying the snowflake atop the gift bag, I sprayed Tattered Angels Frost Glimmer Mist for a little sparkle. I added it to the gift bag with some Pop Up Glue Dots.



I created the snowmound with a fun snow pen from Marvy Uchida. You lay down the ink then heat set it and it puffs up - it's awesome! I then inked the edges of the image with Ranger Distress Ink and mounted the image on some K&Company paper. I used a Silver Spica pen on the snowflakes then added American Crafts Glitter brads to the center of several of the snowflakes. The sentiment was stamped on white cardstock, inked with Ranger Distress ink and mounted on black cardstock. It was then added above the image with black brads. I then used additional Pop Up Glue Dots on the Snowman image to set it apart from the snowflake.

Paint cans

We all love candy and who wouldn't love something different on the Christmas table? I found these cute little paint cans at Michaels and knew they'd come in handy for something!!!! Using Justrite's Holiday Cheer stamp set, I stamped 5 snowflakes for each paint can and one sentiment. A 1" punch was used for the snowflakes, while a circle Nestability die was used for the sentiment. Using Glue Dots, I adhered the snowflakes around the can and on the lid. Candy kisses were added, but M&Ms would work or any other chocolate of your choice. Some bling helps make the snowflakes stand out.
