With Love Floral Panel

Hi everyone, this month the Rinea design team is collaborating with Creative Embellishments.

Adhere Sapphire Starstruck to a canvas panel.  Add a strip of Ebony/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper along the bottom edge.

Ink the  Chicken Wire Chipboard Panel with blue ink, then adhere to the canvas panel.

To get good color on the Hibiscus, add a layer of gesso and let dry. 

Use Brilliance inks to color the Hibiscus.

Adhere the Hibiscus to the Chicken Wire Chipboard Panel, adding foam adhesives to the top flower for dimension.

 Using the Cricut, die cut a jug from Silver/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper.

Add the jug to the canvas panel with foam adhesives for dimension.

Stamp a phrase on a scrap of Gold/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper using StazOn Piano Black Ink and a stamp from Joy Clair.  Add twine to one end and tie it to the handle of the jug.

Butterfly Wall Art

Hi everyone, I'm on the Proxxon blog today creating butterfly wall art.

Do you have a little girl in your life who loves butterflies?  Here's an easy way to make any number of butterflies for her room.

Draw the design on foam, then use the Hot Wire Cutter to quickly and easily cut out the butterfly.

Paint the butterfly with assorted colors of Plaid paints.  I used lavender for the base.  Once dry, I placed a stencil on top and added purple and blue paints.  Black was added to the antenae.  To finish, I selected an assorted of dew drops from the Robin's Nest to decorate the butterfly.

It looks like she's flying, doesn't it?

Happy Halloween with Etchall

Hi everyone, Halloween is just around the corner.  Are you ready?

I needed several new candy dishes for Halloween so I thought I'd use EtchallⓇ etching crème and EtchallⓇͬ etchall dip 'n etch to create some fun candy holders

My spider uses EtchallⓇͬ etchall dip 'n etch.

I simply poured EtchallⓇͬ etchall dip 'n etch into the bowl and let it sit 15 minutes.  Since it is reusable, I simply poured it back into it's original container.

Once the bowl was etched, I rinsed and dried it, then painted it yellow.  When dry, I added the spider legs, some twine and candy.  Quick and simple.

My plate uses EtchallⓇ etching crème.

Using my Cricut, I die cut all the elements I wanted, then placed them about the plate.

I covered the plate with EtchallⓇ etching crème, letting it sit for about 15 minutes.  Since it is reusable,  I scraped the etching crème back into it's original container so it's available for my next project.

I washed and dried the plate, leaving the stickers in place.  Then I used gold gilding paste to cover the plate.

Then I removed all the stickers to reveal a wonderful effect.

Together or apart, I am sure the kids will love the effect, don't you?

Styletech blog hop

Hi everyone,  I'm participating with the Designer Craft Connection blog hop and this month we are working with Styletech Craft.  They have a wide variety of craft vinyl in a variety of styles and colors.

Halloween is coming.  Are you ready?  See how I used Styletech vinyls to create an assortment of Halloween party themed decorations.
 

I found this spider frame last year and thought it needed some altering.   I used etchallⓇ etching crème on the glass (etching directions can be found here), then I painted the frame with Prima Marketing paints.

To decorate the frame, I die cut Purple vinyl for the graveyard scene.

I placed Silver vinyl on black cardstock then die cut it with a pennant banner.

Next, I die cut letters from Copper vinyl and placed them atop the banner.

All pieces were added to the spider frame along with a trio of ghosts.

Next, I die cut letters from the Copper Vinyl.

And added them around a large goblet.

Finish by wrapping Purple vinyl around the stem and adding ghosts along the base.  Add clothes pins to the goblet's edge to hold tulle, then fill the goblet with candy.

Finally, no party is complete without candy gift bags, right?

Using Spellbinders dies, I die cut Purple, Copper and Olive vinyls.

Cutting orange cardstock 4" x 4".  Each was scored in half to create the candy bag toppers.  Silver vinyl was adhered to each topper and the die cut elements added to the corners.  Phrases were stamped on Olive vinyl with StazOn Piano Black Ink - no smearing!!  Each phrase was then die cut and added to the bag toppers.

Candy was added to bags and the toppers were then attached.

Party Time!!!

Hi everyone, summer is finally here in New York.  The sun is shining and it's actually stopping raining.  July 4th is right around the corner and I've created a 4th of July banner for the upcoming festivities

 

Follow along on how I've used a Clear Scraps Large Acrylic Banner, Rinea Patriotic Foiled Paper Variety Pack and Xyron Adhesives to create this fun party banner.

 

 

Using one of the Large Acrylic Banners from Clear Scraps, I used it as a stencil to cut Ruby Starstruck Foiled Paper which I adhered it to the back of the panel.  Next I cut Silver/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper slightly smaller to fit the front of the panel.

I also die cut a medallion from Sapphire Starstruck Foiled paper and matted it on Ebony/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper so it would stand out. A small hanging banner was die cut from Silver Glossy and the letters were die cut from Ebony/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper.   Using the XyronⓇ Create-A-Sticker, I added adhesive to the banners and the medallion.  At 5" wide, the XyronⓇ Create-A-Sticker was the perfect size for adding adhesive to the large die cut elements.

Next, I used the XyronⓇ 3" Disposable Sticker Maker to add adhesive to the letters.  The smaller size sticker maker means less adhesive waste for tiny elements.

The layers were assembled and placed atop the banner.

 

The firecrackers were die cut from three layers - Ruby Starstuck and Ebony/Gold Glossy Foiled Papers.  Running the die cuts through the Xyron Create-A-Sticker, I easily assembled the three layers together and placed the firecrackers behind the medallion.  

To finish I rolled several thin strips of left over foiled papers around a craft pick creating some fun spirals that were added to the bottom of the banner.  Ribbon was added so the banner could hang.

Happy Valentine's Day with Makin's Clay

Makin's Clay can be used for the main element on your cards or even as smaller elements that help set a theme.

As I wanted a darker red for my first card, I added some brown paint to the red clay then conditioned the clay to mix in the paint to achieve an even color.  Next, I ran the clay through the clay machine starting on the highest setting.

I continued putting the sheet of clay through the clay machine reducing the setting each time until I had the panel at the desired thickness.

Once the panel was ready, I cut it to fit an embossing folder, then used the Roller to imprint the words onto the clay.  With fresh clay and medium pressure, the words become imprinted quickly.  You can also use a die cut machine if desired, just be careful of the pressure used.

I trimmed the panel with the Cutter to approximately 4" square.

Using the left over clay, I  die cut some arrows.

Allow all the elements to dry at least 24 hours before continuing.

For the first card, I matted the clay panel with layers of cardstock and adhered it to a striped card.  For a little shimmer, I rubbed  silver paint lightly over the panel.   Love was adhered across the bottom edge.

For my second card, I used the Roller to roll out red clay, then placed a die onto the clay.  Using the Roller again, I  forced the die into the clay, cutting the design.  Since the clay was fresh, I only needed light pressure to cut the clay.

I created my card and added a large die cut heart.  In the center of the heart I added a die cut arrow, then placed Love across the center.
