Celebrate

Have you seen the lovely papers and Dew Drops embellishments from Robins Nest?   Well, they are simply gorgeous!!

I created an easel card by cutting cardstock 5 1/2" x 11" and then scoring at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2".  When folding on these two lines, you create the easel backing.  Cut a second piece of cardstock 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" and add to the easel to create the top layer of your card.

The paper I used is Classic Roses which is a doubled sided paper with stripes on the reverse. I cut the stripes as my second layer (cutting it 5 1/4" x 5 1/4"), cutting black cardstock 5" x 5" and the roses paper at 4 3/4" x 4 3/4".  Each layer was inked with black ink before adhering.  Ribbon was tied around the layers before finally adhering everything to the easel base.

The couple was stamped and embossed, then die cut with Spellbinders dies.  To avoid cutting off part of the woman's dress and umbrella, I cut around them before cutting the oval.  A larger scalloped oval die was used as a mat for the image.  Ranger Antique Linen Distress Ink was sponged around the oval.

I used the Classic Roses  paper for the bottom layer of the card, cutting it 5 1/4" x 5 1/4".  The sentiment was stamped on white cardstock and a layer of cardstock and pattern paper was created for dimension to keep the easel standingup.

I used Black Dew Drops to complement the sentiment for the interior of my card, applying them with the Best Glue Ever Adhesive by ScraPerfect.   The Best Glue Ever holds so well - never will these Dew Drops fall off the card!!!
