Let's Dance with Artesprix and Designer Crafts Connection

Hi everyone, I'm participating in the Designer Crafts Connection blog hop, and this month we are partnering with Artesprix.   Artesprix is a new to me company that allows you to use Artesprix Permanent Thermal Transfer Markers to personalize items using a sublimation heat transfer process.  It sounded a bit intimidating, but once I tried it, I was hooked!

I used one of the Artesprix Metal Bag Tags to create a fun dance tag

I started by drawing the tag twice on copy paper, one for each side of the tag.

Using the Artesprix Sublimation Blank Stamp Pad, I stamped 2 different images from TLC Designs' Tiptoe Fairy Dance Stamps, one on each of the drawn tags.

Next, I colored the images with Artesprix Iron-on-Ink Sublimation Markers.  I then added some confetti stamps around the images.  The colors are somewhat muted on the copy paper, but the magic happens once you heat set!

Using Artesprix Heat Tape, I taped the tag over the colored image.  The Heat Tape can be heated up to 400 degrees and easily removes once the project has been heat set.

Create a sandwich using Artesprix Protective Paper and place the tag (image side down) on your heat surface.  Since I was using an iron, I kept the iron moving over the protective paper for approximately 3 minutes (your time will vary depending on your heating element).

Allow the tag to cool, then remove the protective paper and tape to reveal the image which has been transferred to the tag.

This was so much fun, I decided to use the Artesprix Poly Canvas Zip case.  Using the same images, I thought I'd create a Dance ensemble.  Unfortunately, I did not tape the images in place securely and because I was using an iron, the images slipped.  I did not get the clean, crisp image as I did on the tag.  Lesson learned - tape securely!!

This is definitely a fun and creative way to use your stamps to create amazing projects.
Please stop by the Designer Crafts Connection blog to see what the designers have created this month with products from Artesprix.

Thanks for stopping by.

  2. Very cute tags. Sorry your zipper pouch didn't work out. Next time definitely tape down the image and don't move the heat source. You can always heat more than once.
