Cauldron

It's time to get spooky and this Witches Brew Stamp by Catherine Swinford for Kat Stamps is perfect.  I opted to make a shaped card using the cauldron as the focal point.  I just added some die cuts from Spellbinders to complete my spooky look. 

The cauldron was colored with shades of gray Copic makers.  I carefully colored the background with light tan along the bottom and some blue around the top.  Portions of the cauldron and the "flames" were outlined with Gold Spica pens.

This fun stamp is called Awakening by Micah Carmichael for Katstamps.  It was screaming for just a touch of color to coordinate with the selected background.  The sentiment is a rub-on from Karen Foster.

Stamping the image on white cardstock in black ink, I carefully outlined several areas with Spica pens, then colored in some sections with Copic Markers.  I really wanted the image to stand on it's own because it is beautiful.

Spooky

It's almost time for Halloween, so it's time to begin creating Halloween cards.  This Witches Brew Stamp by Catherine Swinford for Katstamps is the perfect way to start on your Halloween creations.

I lightly colored the cauldron with gray Copic Markers.  Then I die cut the cauldron with a Spellbinders circle die, along with it's black mate.  The background was created with a Sizzix embossing folder and Silver Faber Castell Gelatos were rubbed across the raised portions!  It really added to the spooky effect I was seeking.  A few simple letter stickers that coordinated with the cauldron finished off the spooky effect.

Enjoy the Simple Things

Today I used this fun stamp from Kat stamps called "Awakening" by Micah Carmichael.  It reminds me that each day is to be cherished and that we need to take time to enjoy each new day.

 

I chose to color the image with assorted Copic Markers, adding some Spica pens for a glittery effect.

Hugs & Kisses Card

Today's post at Kat Stamps.

It's never too early to create cards for upcoming holidays because holidays seem to creep up on us. I found this paper in my stash and knew it would work well with the Marion Stamp. She's a little saucy with those big eyes don't you think!

I lightly colored her with Copic Markers, then added gold Spica pen to her fins because I wanted a little shimmer. I then added a touch of red to her eyes and nails.

I chose to cut Marion out and place her on a background created with Spellbinders Oval dies.

Tiny Treasures Gift Bag

This is today's post at www.katstamps.com. I'm using the Swashbuckler stamp by Christina Lynn Myers.

I recently found these little glossy bags in my stash and thought this image was a perfect fit for the bag.  The bag may be small, but think of all the little treasures you can put in it.

Using Ranger Alcohol Inks, I inked up the bag, including the sides.  Alcohol Inks work great on glossy paper and this bag really loved them.  I stamped my image and colored her with Copic Markers.  Then I cut her out, but before placing her on the bag, I added some Glossy Accents to the skull, her necklace and her hair ribbons.  I added the image to the bag with foam adhesives so she'd stand out.

It's a little hard to tell, but I also used Alcohol Inks on the tissue paper I put inside the bags.

Treasures from the Sea

This is today's post at www.katstamps.com.  I'm using Swashbuckler stamp by Christina Lynn Myers. This Gal would make anyone's head turn.
I created a sea background of alcohol inks on glossy cardstock trying to convey a sense of movement in the background. I cut the treasure chest with my Cricut and then inked the edges to "age" the chest. I colored the stamped image with Copic Markers and then cut her out and placed her on top of the chest.

Doesn't it appear as if this Gal has found a wonderful treasure in this chest?

Marion as a Postage Stamp

I was lucky enough to work with Queen Kat's Marion stamp this month.  She was created by Terra Bidlespacher for Kat Stamps and I love that she is tucked into the surrounding greenery.

This stamp is a little bit larger and lend itself well to a square shape. I colored her with Copic Markers and used some light blue for the surrounding sea. Doesn't she look like she could be a postage stamp?

Using Spellbinders dies, I cut the image into a square and cut the background from a postage die - love the added texture this gives my card.

I created a 3" x 3" card from brown cardstock and added my postage stamped image on top. I'm thinking this would be a great little "thinking of you card".

I used this awesome Forest Moon Fairy stamp by Victoria Griffin.  She lends herself perfectly to any type of projects.  I chose to color her with soft colors to keep the focus on her details.

The scalloped card shape was cut with my Cricut Expression and the Wild Card Cartridge.  Both the card and the center circle were embossed with Cuttlebug embossing folders for more dimension.  I added some ribbon across the center and placed 2 stick pins in the knot.

Zombie Door Hanger

Today's post at Queen Kat is this adorable Zombie stamp by Rossana Castellino. Isn't she the cutest? Whoever thought a Zombie could be so adorable!!

After coloring image with Spica pens for a little bit of pizzazz, I turned this cutie into a door hanger for Halloween.

I cut apart the background and mounted her on some starred paper, then I die cut all the layers to give her some depth. A bit of ink finished her off along with a little sign tied with some twine.

Now who wouldn't want to come to your house for Halloween treats!

This amazing stamp by Renee Lavoie is called Sea Witch. I adore her. She is very versatile and lends herself easily to any kind of project you want to me. I pulled out some summery papers in keeping with the colors I colored her using Copic Markers.

Zombie Cash

Check out this fun  Zombie stamp by Rossana Castellino for Queen Kat.
I colored portion of the stamped image with Copic Markers and used Spica pens for the spiders and their webs. I thought she'd make a great little gift card for that little Zombie in your life!!

Birthday Wishes

This is today's post at Kat Stamps. 

This amazing stamp is by Renee Lavoie. She is called Sea Witch.

Since I needed a birthday card, I thought she'd be perfect. I colored her with Copic Markers, then cut her out. I placed her on a circle die cut to help her stand out from the background papers.

Isn't she precious? A little Spica pen for some pizzazz was added to her sceptor and her bikini top.

Good Times Card uses the Ride With Me clear stampset with Clearsnap Mix'd Media Black Inx and Embossing Powders.  I stamped the background with Clearsnap Stephanie Barnard Sky Ink for a subtle background effect.

The card still looked a little plain so some twine added a little extra fun to the card.  The images were die cut with Spellbinders dies, inked with Clearsnap Strawberry Ink and adhered to the card.  A little Clearsnap Siren and Snickerdoodle Smooch added some color to the packages.

Butterfly Card - I inked this beautiful Friendship stamp with both Clearsnap Stephanie Barnard Ink in Artichoke and Tangerine.  I then stamped it again in Tangerine and cut out the upper butterflies.  A little Clearsnap Fairy Dust Glitter added a nice finish to the butterflies.

The background was embossed with a Cuttlebug Embossing Folder and then some twine was added around the card.

Thanks was stamped and then colored with Copic Markers before cutting out the flower and popping it up on a Spellbinders die cut circle. 

A ribbon was tied around the card and the sentiment was added below.

Christmas Tag

On the 4th day of Christmas, Peppermint was my choice agan today to use on a Christmas tag. Iused my Cuttlebug embossing folder on the tag first and blinged it with Shimmerz. The big snowflake is Karen Fosters and the ribbon was the perfect touch.

Today's challenge From Queen Kat was to interpret the design as shown on her blog. There was so much to choose from, but ultimately I decided on the coffee cup and the rich colors. Cutting the coffee cups with my Cricut, I had the perfect Queen Kat stamp to use. Then I added a little bling - a girl's gotta have bling!!!!!
