ScorPal Owl Friendship

Hi everyone, it's time for a new Scor-Pal challenge.  Just create a project with more than one score.

Supplies: Scor-Pal, Scor-Tape

Stamps:  Heartfelt Creations, Hero Arts

I created a similar card a year or so ago and wanted to try it again with a different effect.

Cut cardstock 6" x 12".

With the 12" length at the edge, score at 4" and 8".

Cut along the 2 scored lines as shown - 3" at the left side and 4 1/2" at the right side.

Rotating the panel and placing the straight edge across the channel, score at 1/4" and 11 3/4".

These will be used for the tabs.

To create the 2 tabs, cut along the 1/4" edges as shown, leaving about 1/2" for the tab.

Fold along the scored lines.

Score 1/2" from the right edge of the center panel at the tab area.

Fold the left panel towards the center and lightly mark where the tab meets the panel at the 1/2" score line.  Cut along the mark so the tab can slip inside.

When the tab is inserted, this creates the bowed effect.

Do the same so the smaller panel's tab can slip inside.

Cut white cardstock 4" x 6", or at least long enough so you have some excess once your fussy cut around the image.

Stamp and emboss the owls along the top edge and color with Copic Markers.

Fussy cut around the stamped image and ink the panel with brown ink.

Adhere the panel to the card then fussy cut the card around the owls.

Cut the outer flaps into your desired shape, softening the straight edges.

Stamp and emboss a phrase just under the owls.

Stamp and emboss a second phrase, inking the edges and adhere it to the smaller flap.

Finish by adding rhinestones about the card.

Scorpal Waterfall Card

Hi everyone, it's time for a new Scor-Pal challenge.  Just create a project with more than one score.  Today, I've created a waterfall card.

This belly band wrapped waterfall card is a fun card to share with everyone.

Cut green cardstock 4 1/4" x 11" and score at 5 1/2" to create the card.

Cut pattern paper to fit the front and base of the card.

To create the waterfall effect, cut green cardstock 2 1/4" x 11".

Cut 6 pieces of green cardstock 2 1/2" x 2 1/2".

Cut 6 pieces of pattern paper 2 1/4" x 2 1/4.

Corner round the bottom edges and adhere together.

Laying one of the squares on the length of green cardstock, score just above it.

Then score 6 additional lines 1/4" apart.

Place Score-Tape lining it at the scored lines.

Starting from the bottom, remove the Scor-Tape backing and adhere one of the squares.

Continue removing the backing and adhering the squares until all 6 are in place.

Placing the adhered panels face down, cut the excess cardstock so it aligns with the bottom edge of the first square.

Corner round the edges of the panel.

Cut pattern paper to fit and also corner round the edges.

Flip the panels over and cut pattern paper to fit the other side of the green panel.

This gives the waterfall a bit more strength.

Fold this panel down so it is behind the waterfall panels.

To create the mechanism, cut green cardstock 1" x 5" and fold it to fit around the back panel.

Slip the loose bottom green square under the wrap.

Add glue to the first (bottom) square where it overlaps the wrap.

Cut a tab and slip it between the layers to use as a "pull".

Flipping the panel over, add Scor-Tape to the wrap ONLY.

This piece will be adhered to the card and make the waterfall work.

Adhere the waterfall to the card base, being sure to line the tap with the bottom edge.

If you pull on the tab, the waterfall panels move.

Decorate the squares as desired with stamps and die cuts (preferably before adhering everything together)!!!

 Hi everyone, it's time for a new Scor-Pal challenge.  Just create a project with more than one score.

Stamps:  Joy Clair, Hero Arts

Cut cardstock 6" x 12".

With the 12" length at the edge, score at 4" and 8".

Rotate and score the left edge at 3" stopping at the 4" score line.

Rotate and score the right edge at 1 1/2" stopping at the 8" score line.

Cut along the 2 scored lines as shown.

Rotating the panel and placing the straight edge across the channel, score at 1/4" and 11 1/4".

To create the 2 tabs, cut along the 1/4" edges as shown.

Fold along the scored lines.

Score 1/2" from the right edge of the center panel at the tab area.

Fold the left panel towards the center and lightly mark where the tab meets the panel at the 1/2" score line.  Cut along mark so the tab can slip inside.

When the tab is inserted, this creates the bowed effect.

Do the same so the smaller panel's tab can slip inside.

Cut white cardstock 5" x 8".

Stamp and emboss the floral image along the top edge and color with Copic Markers.

Cut the stamped panel to fit the center panel.

Fussy cut around the stamped image and ink the panel with brown ink.

Use a stencil to add a design on the bottom section of the panel.

Adhere the panel to the center of the card then fussy cut around the card.

Cut the outer panels as desired, softening the straight edges.

Ink the card with brown ink.

Punch out assorted sizes of butterflies and adhere to the left panel.

Stamp and emboss a phrase just under the floral panel.

Stamp and emboss a second phrase.  

Ink the edges and adhere to the smaller panel

Finish by adding rhinestones as the butterfly trails and assorted liquid pearls to the flower centers.

Mini Friendship Cards

Hi everyone, I've created several mini friendship cards for a group of friends using Tutti Designs slim line dies which were scored in half.  This is a great way to use slim line dies in an alternative way!

I started with the Tutti Designs Scalloped  slim line die for the base, then scored each in half.  

The 2nd layer is another Tutti Designs die cut to fit each card.

To create the sentiment shape, I first die cut the sentiment, then flipped the die around to add the stitching line across the top of  the sentiment.  The die easily lines up with the previous die cut stiches.  I created the black base in the same fashion,

After adhering the phrases to each card, I selected coordinating flowers from my stash and added them to the cards.  Liquid pearls were added about the cards.

If friends were flowers.......

Hi everyone, I've created this fun card today using the supplies on my craft table.

I began by creating the background with Ranger Distress Oxide Inks.  This creates a really soft and subtle effect which is exactly what I wanted.

I used a Cheery Lynn background die to die cut Rinea Gold/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper, then adhered it to the inked panel.  I purposely did not adhere all the slats as I had a further plan in mind.

Using Heartfelt Creations dies with Rinea Blush/Blush Starstruck Foiled Paper, I created the flowers.

I had 2 previously die cut leaf sprays from Rinea Emerald/Emerald Starstruck Foiled Paper, so I placed the first one on the card, inserting parts through the unglued lattice panels.  The 2nd one was placed on top giving the spray some dimension.  The flowers were then glued in place.  Once dry, I filled the flower centers with Ancient Gold Liquid Pearls.

A small phrase was stamped on white cardstock and punched out.  It was matted to a scalloped oval that was punched from Gold/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper then placed on the card with foam adhesives for dimension.

Happy Father's Day with Rinea Foiled Paper

Hi everyone.  As you know Father's Day is not too far off now and I've got some amazing Father's Day cards on the Rinea blog using the new Magical Foiled Paper Variety Pack.

I began by embossing Glossy Ruby Red/Gold Foiled Paper with a Spellbinders embossing folder.  Look at all those details.

Using fine sandpaper, I sanded the embossed paper before matting it with black cardstock. 

Dad and you are the best were stamped on Glossy Gold/Gold Foiled Paper.  Dad was placed inside a label and attached to the panel with brads.   You are the best was matted with a scrap of Glossy Ebony Black/Gold Foiled Paper and adhered to the panel with a brad.  In keeping with the background theme, metal gears were added to the card.

For my next card I inked a background stamp with black ink and stamped it on Glossy Ebony Black/Gold Foiled Paper.  Next, I determined where I wanted to add additional colors of foiled papers and stamped them with the same stamp.  I stamped scraps of Glossy Gold/Gold Foiled Paper, Copper/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper and Emerald/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper.  

I cut around the balloon and adhered it to the main image, then tore the other papers and added them to the card.  The panel was matted with black cardstock and added to a card with foam adhesives.

Happy Father's Day was stamped and added to the card.  Then metal gears were scattered about the card.

Altered Frame with Handmade Papers

Hi everyone, I'm on the Arnold Grummer blog with an altered frame using handmade paper.

Creating your own paper is fun, but sometimes you make a mistake.  I was creating this envelope but forgot to use the mesh while removing excess water from the paper.  Unfortunately, this pulled away part of the paper I had just made!  No more envelope!

I just put this paper aside to dry, then realized I could cut it apart and alter a frame.

Cutting the papers to fit, I adhered them to the frame.  Once dry, I used the Proxxon PenSander to sand the edges and remove the excess paper.

Using another sheet of handmade paper, I die cut flowers, flourishes and a butterfly.

Then I sprayed the elements with Imagine Fireworks! Sprays.

I painted the edges of the frame with terracotta paint, then stamped a grid pattern with Brilliance Coffee Ink randomly about the frame.   I then added the flourishes, flowers and butterfly to the frame.

I stamped a phrase on the same paper, tore the edges and inked with Brilliance Coffee Ink.  I matted the phrase with kraft cardstock and added it to the center of the frame.
