Clear Scraps Dragonflies Background Cards

Hi everyone, I'm on the Clear Scraps blog with a set of  cards using the Dragonflies Chipboard Embellishments as stencils..

The dragonflies come as a pair and they just need to be clipped off the frame that surrounds them.

While spraying colors on the chipboard pieces, I realized I had created a wonderful background collage.

I chose to make cards from the paper I created with the spray inks and I put aside the chipboard dragonflies to use at another time.

I used slim line dies to create a card from black cardstock.  I also die cut the top panel from the stenciled paper using the next smaller slim line die.

I created a 2nd card that measured 5" x 5".

I used a Lavinia stamp and gray ink to add a bit of depth on the square panel.

I used the same Lavinia stamp on the slim line panel.  I wanted a subtle look so the gray ink was perfect.

Next, I inked around the edges of both panels with blue and black inks.  It really brought the designs into focus.

The slim line panel was added to the black card and the square panel was added to a blue card.  The hint of black along the edges really helps it stand out.

Using a left over scrap of  the same paper, I stamped a phrase in gray ink, die cut it and matted it with a larger black circle.  It was then added to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.

Using a left over scrap of  the same paper, I stamped a difference phrase in gray ink, die cut it and matted it with a larger black circle.  It was then added to the slim line card with foam adhesives for dimension.

So remember your chipboard embellishments can be used in different ways.

Thanks for stopping by.

Lavinia World Challenge #45

Hi everyone, it's time for the next challenge at Lavinia World Challenges.  Please check it out and join in the fun.

I just received some new slim line dies and knew I wanted to create a slim line card, but I wasn't actually sure of the final size I wanted.  So I cut a white panel the size of the largest die.

I began by creating snow mounds using torn strips of cardstock with Distress Oxide Ink in Speckled Egg.  I stamped a tree in the center of the panel using the Fairy Fire Tree 2.  Because I wanted a subtle effect, I stamped it with VersaFine Clair ink in Morning Mist, along with a touch of VersaFine Clair ink in Pinecone on the trunk.  Placing cardstock over the snow mounds, I re-stamped the top portion of the tree to the left of the full tree.  I sponged VersaFine Clair Ink in Twilight around the edge of the panel.

Placing an acrylic circle over the trees, I lightly sponged Speckled Egg, then I stamped the  Forest Spruce around the upper half of the panel with Staz On Pigment Ink in Snowflake and heat set. it   I re-stamped the Forest Spruce with VersaFine Clare in Morning Mist and also heat set it.

I used Tutti Designs Slimline Dotted Rectangle dies to die cut the panel.  The bunnies are from the Midnight Meanderings stamp and they were stamped individually in VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne.  Several smaller trees from the  Tree Scene stamp set were inked with Snowflake Ink and also embossed.

The die cut panel was matted with black cardstock, then realigned atop the die cut frame.  It makes the image stand out.

The stamped panel was then added to a slimline card.

Finally, I die cut "blessed" and adhered it along the bottom edge of the card.

Would love to see what you create for Challenge #45.  The winner of the challenge will receive a

Lavinia World Challenge #44

Hi everyone, it's time for the next challenge at Lavinia World Challenges.  Please check it out and join in the fun.

Sprinkle several colors of  Lindy's Magicals on white cardstock.  Spritz with water and turn the panels so the colors run om different directions.  Allow to dry completely.

Stamp Fairy Words in the center of one of the panels with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink.

On the other panel, stamp Sacred Spells, also using Versa Fine Nocturne Ink.

Die cut the panels with Lawn Fawn rectangle dies, then die cut the center of each panel using a smaller Lawn Fawn rectangle die.  Mat the smaller panels with black cardstock, then adhere to the larger panels.

Add thee panels to black cards.  This card is horizontal.

Inside the card, stamp Dancing Till Dawn on a panel of white cardstock using Nocturne Ink.

This card is vertical.

And the interior has the Fairy Couple stamped in Nocturne Ink on white cardstock.

Would love to see what you create for Challenge #44.  The winner of the challenge will receive a
$15 gift certificate to Lavinia World to shop for more goodies.   Remember there is a new challenge every other Thursday.

Snowflake Cards with Rinea Foiled Papers

Hi everyone, I'm on the Rinea blog today with a set of snowflake cards.

Rinea foiled papers are perfect for card making and the more intricate the die, you can really see how easily Rinea foiled papers die cut.

Using a Snowflake background die from PoppyStamps, I die cut both Arctic Starstruck Foiled Paper and Cobalt Starstruck Foiled Paper.  The foils die cut this intricate die beautifully and easily.

The Cobalt panel was matted with Arctic/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper.  The phrase, from Lavinia stamps, was also matted with Cobalt before being placed on the card.

For a tone on tone effect, I matted the die cut panel with Arctic/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper.

The same phrase was used but I decided not to mat it.  I wanted a pure white effect (other than the stamped phrase!).

Nuvo Drops were added randomly to the snowflakes to create a 3 dimensional effect.

Thanks for stopping by.

Lavinia World Challenge #43

Hi everyone, it's time for the next challenge at Lavinia World Challenges.  Please check it out and join in the fun.

I used a Tutti Designs die to die cut Rinea Arctic Starstruck Foiled Paper for the card front.

I stamped the Lavinia Small Reindeer with black ink on white cardstock and it fit perfectly in the center of the oval.

Using Ranger Distress Oxide Ink in Speckled Egg, I created snow mounds under the reindeer.  Then I used Ranger Distress Oxide Ink in Faded Jeans to add additional dimension.

I adhered the die cut panel to the reindeer panel, then adhered it to a white card.  I love the white on white effect.

Using Tutti Designs Cones and Branches dies I die cut them from Rinea Foiled Papers in Emerald  Starstruck and Mocha Starstruck.

Then I adhered them to the corner of the card.

Needing a little "something", I added a small red bow over the branches.

Would love to see what you create for Challenge #43.  The winner of the challenge will receive a
$15 gift certificate to Lavinia World to shop for more goodies.   Remember there is a new challenge every other Thursday.
