Styletech blog hop

Hi everyone,  I'm participating with the Designer Craft Connection blog hop and this month we are working with Styletech Craft.  They have a wide variety of craft vinyl in a variety of styles and colors.

Halloween is coming.  Are you ready?  See how I used Styletech vinyls to create an assortment of Halloween party themed decorations.
 

I found this spider frame last year and thought it needed some altering.   I used etchallⓇ etching crème on the glass (etching directions can be found here), then I painted the frame with Prima Marketing paints.

To decorate the frame, I die cut Purple vinyl for the graveyard scene.

I placed Silver vinyl on black cardstock then die cut it with a pennant banner.

Next, I die cut letters from Copper vinyl and placed them atop the banner.

All pieces were added to the spider frame along with a trio of ghosts.

Next, I die cut letters from the Copper Vinyl.

And added them around a large goblet.

Finish by wrapping Purple vinyl around the stem and adding ghosts along the base.  Add clothes pins to the goblet's edge to hold tulle, then fill the goblet with candy.

Finally, no party is complete without candy gift bags, right?

Using Spellbinders dies, I die cut Purple, Copper and Olive vinyls.

Cutting orange cardstock 4" x 4".  Each was scored in half to create the candy bag toppers.  Silver vinyl was adhered to each topper and the die cut elements added to the corners.  Phrases were stamped on Olive vinyl with StazOn Piano Black Ink - no smearing!!  Each phrase was then die cut and added to the bag toppers.

Candy was added to bags and the toppers were then attached.

Etched Spider Frame

Hi everyone, I've got a new project using etchallⓇ etching crème.

The frame was perfect for Halloween as it already had a spider on the glass.  On the reverse side, I placed masking tape along the edges of the frame (please forgive the glare).

I applied a layer of etching crème over the glass and allowed it to sit for 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, I removed the etching crème and placed it back in it's original container since it is reusable.  Then I rinsed the glass and buffed it dry.  etchallⓇ etching crème created a frosted appearance behind the spider.

Next, I painted the frame with assorted colors of Prima Marketing paints.  Once dry, I decorated with assorted die cuts using Styletech Crafts vinyl.

Happy Thanksgiving

Happy Thanksgiving!

I love Thanksgiving and had fun creating this card using a Tutti Designs Die and adhesive vinyl from Stylecraft/Tape Technologies.

Using Gold Vinyl, I die cut the Tutti Design Cornucopia.  It cut beautifully.  Then I fussy cut orange cardstock for the pumpkin.

Using Apple Glitter vinyl, I cut it to fit an embossing folder.

Then I lightly inked it with VersaFine Clair Pinecone Ink and rubbed the color into the design.

Place the panel onto brown cardstock and adhere the cornucopia to the bottom corner.

Stamp Happy Thanksgiving on a scrap with VersaFine Clair and emboss with Clear embossing powder.  Place on brown cardstock.

Create card from white and brown cardstock and wrap with ribbon.  Add panel on top with foam adhesives for dimension.

Happy Graduation with Tape Technologies

Hi everyone, I am participating in the Designer Crafts Connection blog hop.  This month we are working with  Styletech Craft/Tape Technologies.

With graduations on the horizon, I created a gift jar and coordinating gift bag using the colors of the graduating class - Silver and Rust vinyl.

I began by selecting a jar and with 4 squared areas.  I die cut GRAD from the Rust vinyl using my Cricut.  The vinyl die cut really well and it easily removed from its backing.

Once the letters were adhered to the jar, I began working on the top.  I used Spellbinders circle dies to die cut a Rust vinyl circle to fit the cap.  Next I die cut a smaller Silver layer.  Using My Favorite Things dies, I die cut the graduation cap in both colors.  These were adhered to the cap and a 1/2" strip of Rust vinyl was wrapped around the edge.

Finally, I thought it needed a little dressing up, so I adhered some lace trim from  Expo International,  around the edge of the cap.

Doesn't it look wonderful.  As I was giving this as a gift, I needed a gift bag so I cut  Silver vinyl to fit the front of a gift bag.

Then I die cut a large "G" from Rust vinyl using my Cricut.

I carefully applied the letter to the bag, peeling off the backing a bit at a time so I could get the letter straight.

Then I used the squeegee to smooth out the vinyl to remove any bubbles.  I also added some additional trim across the top of the gift bag so it coordinated with the jar.

Next, I die cut "rad" from Rust vinyl and adhered along the right edge.  Congratulations was cut from Rust vinyl using another metal die.  The backing pulled away easily even from those tiny letters and I was able to adhere it across the top of the bag.

 I put some money in the jar.  After all, what is a graduation gift without some cash!!
