On Your Baptism

Hi everyone. 

Have  you checked out the stamps and dies from   Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps yet? If not, you should see the fun assortment of stamps and dies they have in stock.

I used CLR032 - Clear Crosses; D032 - Cross Die.  The clear set has several different styles of crosses as well as sentiments which are perfect to use together or separately.

I scored the card to allow the lovely Core-dinations cardstock to show.  Then used sand paper around the edges.

 

The crosses were stamped in white ink and then embossed and then die cut.  I find I get a much better image this way.

Hello

It's a new challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs   and we need to keep it Krafty while also using Cheery Lynn dies.  I love Kraft paper and this is the design I came up with.

 

I used the Mesh die and created corners for my card by folding the mesh to the back of the card.  Then I used the trellis die and added some flowers on top.

 

A Hero Arts sentiment stamped in Clearsnap Ink says it all.

Time to reflect

Today is my day to host a challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms. 

For the "anything goes" challenge, I wanted to do something different with the  Woodgrain Backgrounder Stamp along the theme of Graduation.    With my son graduating from high school in two weeks, I wanted to give him a card that would allow him to reflect on what has been and what his next steps will be.

After stamping the background on white cardstock with raspberry ink, I decided to cut the stamped image into squares, and place the squares back in a random pattern on black cardstock.  This creates a really unique background.  Backgrounder Stamps are amazing because they are extremely versatile.  You don't have to use them as is - play around and see what you can create.

The sentiments are from A Time To Stamp.  I die cut Time into an oval shape using Spellbinders dies and added a larger oval as its background mat.  The smaller sentiment was added to the card front with foam adhesives for dimension.

Just remember that every stamp has so many possibilities - so take them out and play with them.

Hi everyone.

I know that Mother's Day has passed, but I wanted to show you another card using Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps and dies.

I found this lovely pattern paper in my stash and decided to cut around the large flower and use that as the focal point.  Using the Gears Dies, I die cut them from chipboard and covered with several colors of embossing powders, trying to simulate the center of the flower.  I used the Happy Mothers Day sentiment, but you can easily use the Happy Birthday sentiment or any other sentiment of your choosing.

Under the flower, I used a Cheery Lynn Mesh die which I matted on kraft cardstock before adhering all the elements to my card.

Just Because

Hi everyone, this week's blog challenge at Oozak.com is to focus on a sentiment.

I'm using this sweet Magnolia stamp - Tilda with Flower Pot.  I stamped her with Memento Tuxedo Ink on Copic Xpress It Cardstock, then colored her with Copic Markers.  The background papers are from Graphic 45's newest collection - French Country - which is full of fun colors and patterns.

The sentiment is from Justrite Stampers Grand Sentiments.  To add a little more interest, I used Tim Holtz's Old Paper Distress Ink  around the image and sentiment before matting them with cardstock.

Happy Father's Day

It's a new challenge at Justrite Stampers  and it's time for a masculine project.

I used the Anchor's Away stamp set, along with the coordinating Nested Oval Medallion Dies.

 

The image was stamped with Clearsnap's Arctic Deep Chalk Ink and then embossed with Clear embossing powder.   I then colored the rope with a Zig Scroll & Brush pen and the background with a Zig Kurecolor Marker.

The ship was stamped with Clearsnap's Mix'd Media Inx and embossed with Clear embossing powder and Arctic Deep was used along the edges.  The sentiment was stamped with Arctic Deep on the banner die after it was die cut.  I find I get a much better effect this way.

Skating Day

It's time to showcase another Thomas Kinkade stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms and I am using this wonderful Skater's Pond   rubber stamp.   I first stamped the image with Clearsnap's Ice Blue Chalk Ink on white cardstock and embossed with Clear embossing powder.  Chalk Ink is the best ink to use to get the details of the Thomas Kinkade stamps to really stand out. 

 

 

Since I was matting the image with 2 layers of cardstock, I didn't want to add any additional bulk, so I used the  Gingham  background rubber stamp with brown ink directly on a white card to create the background.

 

I added some Glossy Accents on the pond - love how it appears on this card.

Happy Monday everyone.  It's time for another reveal from Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps..

With Father's Day looming, have you gotten your cards done yet?  Today, I'm using Fishing With Dad as the focal image of my card.  It was perfect to pair with this fun word paper I've had in my stash forever!!!!!  Add the Flourished Die cut (D033) as a backdrop and a card is ready in no time!

You're Unique

It's a new challenge at Cheery Lynn Designs and they are asking for projects using red, white and blue along with their dies, of course.  I've started collecting Cheery Lynn dies and I am impressed with how detailed they are. 

On this card, I've used FRM115 - Lattice 2  as the backdrop, then used DL244 - Rum Punch Tiny Doily to hold the chipboard butterfly.

 

To help the Lattice stand out, I matted it with blue cardstock.  The Rum Punch Tiny Doily is quite detailed, and since I wanted to use 2 layers, I cut away the edges of the red doily and mounted it on the blue doily. 

The chipboard elements were inked before adhering to the card.  Since I didn't have the right color of twine to use with my flag elements, I thought adding a sentiment across the flag elements would alleviate the need for adding twine.

Loved this wood grain pattern paper, but wanted a more feminine look - out came May Arts crocheted trim - the perfect finishing touch.  Love that the cream color of the trim worked well with the pattern paper I chose.

 

Hello card

May Arts Crocheted trim adds texture, color and dimension to this sweet card.  The trim "gives" a little so you can stretch and tie it as needed, and it still retained its shape.

 

Baby Buggy Favors 

Nothing screams baby shower like a baby buggy

Adding May Arts lace trim and little bits of ribbon were the perfect finishing touch to this little party favor and it was so easy to make!!!

 

 



And finally, a tutorial for my Friendship Box using May Arts lace and glitter ribbon.

Cut blue cardstock into a 9” square.
Score at 3” and 6”.
Rotate cardstock 90 degrees and score at 3” and 6”.
Turn cardstock so that the points are at the 6” spot and score from the point to the first score line.
Repeat for each corner.
Fold on score lines, folding the corners inward.

Using a floral rollagraph wheel, roll over white cardstock with Pinkolicious Ink.

Cut floral cardstock into 5 squares – each 2 7/8” x 2 7/8”.
Ink edges with Pinkolicious Ink and adhere 4 of them to the outside base within the scored lines.

Using a wordy rollagraph wheel and Squash Ink, roll across white cardstock.

Cut cardstock into a 9” square.
Score at 3” and 6”.
Rotate cardstock 90 degrees and score at 3” and 6”.
Cut out the 4 corners, creating a "T" shape.
Cut the corner pieces on a diagonal and trim to fit the corners of the base.
Ink edges with Squash Ink and adhere with the words showing.
Using the white side of this piece, ink the edges with Squash Ink.
Trim to fit.
Add Scor-Tape to the center panel and adhere, leaving the other flaps free.

Stamp 6 assorted sentiments on white cardstock with Very Berry Ink and emboss with Clear Embossing Powder.  
Cut, ink edges and mount 5 sentiments on blue cardstock.
Add 4 sentiments to the interior white flaps.
Stamp flourish on the center flap with Squash Ink and emboss with Clear Embossing Powder.
Die cut a sentiment into a circle and add to the center with foam adhesives.

To create the box top:

Cut blue cardstock 5 1/8" x 5 1/8” and score 1” around this piece.

Adhere the remaining floral panel to the center.
Cut along score line to the next scored line on each side. 
Add Scor-Tape to the smaller flaps and fold in to create the box top.

Add Scor-Tape around the edge of the box top.
Add Eyelet Trim  lace around the edge.
Clip at the corners so the ribbon lays flat.

Add Scor-Tape to the pink ribbon.

Place pink ribbon on top of the lace ribbon, pulling off the Scor-Tape in sections as you work.

Adhere the final sentiment to the box top.
Stamp a butterfly with Very Berry Ink and emboss with Clear Embossing Powder.
Add dots of color to the butterfly with Smooch Ink.
Adhere to the top with foam adhesives for dimension.

Add pearls around the box to finish.

Basket Tutorial

Hi friends.  Have you stopped by the  Classy Cards n Such store yet?   Bev has some wonderful products in the store, the prices are good and  we all know that shopping is so much fun!!!

As my term has come to an end, I wanted to share a basket I made using the Spellbinders Vintage Label and Banner dies.  This set, made to mirror Justrite Stampers stamps, contains 2 vintage labels and 3 different sizes/shapes of banner dies. 

Cut 4 pieces of the large vintage label from Wausau Index Green Cardstock.  
Ink the edges of all pieces with Ranger's Pumice Stone Distress Ink. 
Cut 4 pieces of the large vintage label from black cardstock.
Cut 4 pieces of the smaller vintage label from Esse Smooth Pearlized Cocoa Cardstock. 
Ink the edges of all pieces with Ranger's Pumice Stone Distress Ink. 

Looking for a tone-on-tone effect, I stamped the leaf stamp from Heartfelt Creation's Classic Bella Rose stamp set  onto each of the smaller vintage labels with Ranger's Pumice Stone Distress Ink.  Then I embossed each piece with Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder  by Sprinkle & Sparkle. 

 

To create a sturdy base, cut chipboard 4 3/4" x 4 3/4". 
Using a Scor-Buddy,  score 1/2" around all 4 sides and fold. 
Cut the small squares from each corner. 

Using Scor-Tape, apply to the chipboard edges and then adhere the large vintage labels. 
Add Ranger's Pumice Stone Distress Ink  where necessary to "cover" the chipboard. 

To "clean" up the edges, once the labels were adhered, I carefully cut around the labels, making the chipboard less prominent.

To create the handle, cut a 1" x 11" strip from Esse Smooth Pearlized Cocoa Cardstock. 
Stamp the leaf stamp from Heartfelt Creation's Classic Bella Rose stamp set  repeatedly along the strip with Ranger's Pumice Stone Distress Ink,  then emboss with Clear Fine Detail Embossing Powder  by Sprinkle & Sparkle. 
For a strong hold, apply Scor-Tape  to the edges of the handle and adhere to opposite sides of the basket.

To finish off the inside of the basket, adhere the large black vintage labels to the sides and a piece of black cardstock on the base.

Punch a hole in each side of the basket and tie Doodle Twine. 



This is a really nice size basket and would be perfect to give as a gift filled with candies or other little items you know the recipient would love

Tree Fun Fathers Day

It's a new challenge at Cornish Heritage Farms, and today I'd love to see you create a Father's Day Card.

This Trees Backgrounder Stamp  from Cornish Heritage Farms is by far one of my favorite stamps.  I can create with it endlessly.   Today, I stamped the image with Clearsnap Chalk Ink and then added Clear embossing powder.  Once set, I added some swipes of color with Design Memory Craft Gelatos in shades of blue.  Using my finger I rubbed the colors over my image.

Using a baby wipe, I then wiped the image, pulling the color off the embossed image.  As you can see, the gelatos are now on the background since the embossed areas resisted the color.

I matted the stamped image on blue cardstock and then black before adding it to the card front.  The sentiment is a CHF digital sentiment.

Fishing with Dad

Hi everyone.

I completely forgot to post this fun card using products from  Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps.

I used Gears 2 - CLR025A clear stamp set to get the really fun background.  D033 is the Flourished Oval Die and sitting on top is EE0159 FIshing with Dad.

 

 

I'm thinking this would make a great father's day card or even a grandfather's card.

Blog Hop - Prickley Pear Stamps and Cheery Lynn Designs

Hi Everyone.

The design team at  Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps and the design team at Cherry Lynn Designs have joined together for a blog hop this week.


I'm working with FF0051 Mothers Day;  CLR025A Gears2; D025 Gears die and the new Cheery Lynn Trellis die.

I know Mother's Day has passed, but I couldn't resist using this lovely sentiment on another card.

The new Cheery Lynn Trellis die was the perfect backdrop on which to add some tiny flowers.  Since the new clear Gears2 stamp set looks like tiny flowers, how fun it was to pair them together.

I added a flourish behind the Trellis to give the illusion of vines running around and through the Trellis.  The tiny gears were die cut and then stamped in red and pink, then added to the backdrop with some pearl brads.  The sentiment was stamped in pink ink to coordinate with the flowers.

Good morning everyone.  Sometimes an image just speaks to you and this  Daisy Trio  digital stamp from Cornish Heritage Farms    was perfect to create a quick and easy card.

Using dark orange cardstock as the background, I die cut the daisies into a circle and colored them with Copic Markers.  I cut 2 colors of coordinating cardstock on which I mounted the daisies. 

A strip of pattern paper across the center added just the right amount of color.  The sentiment is from the Ornamental Beauty  stamp set and I stamped it directly on the cardstock.
