With Love Card

Hi everyone, I'm back  with another project for Dies R Us.

I've got a card that could be given to newlyweds or perhaps to celebrate an anniversary.  Just change up the colors for the recipient.

Using the Tutti Designs Bird Tapestry die, die cut blue cardstock.

Place a panel of white behind the die cut panel, leaving the edges free.

Place brads in the flower centers and mount the panel on the card with 3D adhesives.

Stamp sentiment and add to the left corner.

Enjoy Your Retirement

Hi everyone, I've go ta new post to share for Dies R Us.  For those heading towards retirement, wouldn't it be great to send them this card?

Start by embossing the card front.  Spritz the card front with Antique Linen Distress Spray Stain and allow the card to dry.  Alternatively, you could emboss and spritz a separate cardstock panel and adhere it to the card. 

Stamp image with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink on white cardstock.  I used assorted Memento Markers to color the image, but I could easily have used Ranger Distress Markers.

Create a mask by restamping the image.  Cut around the Pelican and sand and placing the mask on the main image.  Add color to the sky and water.  Cut around the leaves so they will be free when the image is die cut.

Wrap card with white Baker's Twine.  Place the image atop a larger oval and place on the card with 3D adhesives.  Stamp phrase with black ink, mat with cardstock and add to the right corner.

Mixed Media Fun with Rebekah-Meier Thermoweb

Hi everyone, I am participating in the Designer Crafts Connection blog hop this month.  This month we are working with products from Rebecca Meier and Thermoweb.

I received an amazing assortment of products to create with and I had fun experimenting with all of them.

I started with a canvas panel that I painted blue.  I then added some grey paint.

Once dry, I placed a stencil on top and used the Mixed Media Medium with a pallet knife through the stencil..

Remove the stencil and clean it immediately.  Allow the Mixed Media Medium to air dry.  Or, if you are impatient like me, carefully heat set it.

While the Mixed Media Medium is still tacky, place Gold transfer foil on top and pull away.  Repeat until the foil covers the stars.

Next, I stamped a summer scene on the bottom of the panel and added some touches of color with markers.  Finally, I dragged a black ink pad across the stars and used a baby wipe to blend it into the panel.  I wanted it to appear as if we were sitting at the beach looking up at the night sky!  I added touches of white by blending gesso around the panel.

While I had fun with the canvas,  I also wanted to work with the other products I received. 

Using the Mixed Media Foam Sheets, I cut the foam into a 5" square.   Then I scrunched up the Gold foil as I wanted to create some texture.

I carefully placed the foil on the foam panel and gently pushed the foil texture into the foam panel.

After removing the foil I had this fun (but still tacky) background. 

So I took  a flat sheet of Patina foil and placed it back on the panel.  The Patina foil adhered to the still tacky areas creating a nice melding of foils.

As you can see, there is still some foil remaining on the sheets I used.  Perfect to place aside for another project.

The foam has adhesive on both sides, so it was easy to adhere the foiled panel to my card.  I wrapped Whiskers Graphics twine around the card.

I also die cut a butterfly from the foam sheet and adhered it to the card, then added a sentiment from Joy Clair above the butterfly.

You Are Loved

Hi everyone,  today's project features some amazing products I received from CHA 2016.

This 6" x 6" canvas started out white. Using some amazing colors of Tint It from Design Master, I was able to transform this canvas.  Tint It dries almost immediately and I was able to achieve some layered effects by adding Ultra Matt as the top layer. 

 

 

 

 

I colored a page from a Leisure Arts Coloring Book - the Art of Coloring Flowers.  This coloring book is packed with flowers of all styles and sizes.  Once colored, I fussy cut a corner selection of flowers, then layered a number of them together.  Using Testors paint with an Art Screen from Clearsnap, I added the swirls in the blank space. 

 

 

I added foils to all the leaves using Therm-o-web green foil.  Then, for dimension, I used Therm-o-web foam squares to adhere the flowers to the canvas.

 The stamped phrase is from Sizzix.
