Lavinia World Challenge #42

Hi everyone, it's time for the next challenge at Lavinia World Challenges.  Please check it out and join in the fun.

I stamped the Reindeer (small) on a panel of white cardstock.  Tearing a strip of cardstock, I placed in on the panel, then  inked it with Distress Oxide Ink in Speckled Egg to get the snow layers behind the reindeer.  I moved the torn strip around to get different layers.

The panel was then die cut with a Lawn Fawn Rectangle die.

Next I added Distress Oxide Inks in Squeezed Lemonade and Dried Marigold to create the background.  Tiny trees from the Tree Scene set were stamped on both sides using a first and second generation stamping technique using VersaFine Clair Shady Lane Ink.

Next, I placed an acrylic circle in the right corner, then drew around it using a Quickie Glue Roller Pen and poured on Fairy Hugs Silver Lightening Glitter.  I also add drops of glue and the glitter along the snow drifts so it appears the reindeer left prints in the snow.

Once dry, the panel was matted with 3 layers of cardstock before being added to a blue card.

Quick and Easy Christmas Projects Day 3

Hi everyone.  Christmas will be here before we know it.  The last six years I've blogged about last minute Christmas ideas you could make in under 60 minutes.  Well, it's that time again and I've got some new projects to share.

Today, I'm sharing some really quick and easy gift card holders.  These are really easy to create, and if you use a sturdy double sided cardstock, it's already decorated!  I used Graphic 45's Joy to the World Collection.

Start by cutting pattern paper 5" x 9 3/4".

With the long side at the top edge of the Scor-Pal, score at 1 3/4", 4 1/2", 5 3/4" and 7".

You can get 2 gift card holders from one sheet of 12" x 12" of paper.

Fold on the first and last score lines, then create the mountain fold with the middle scored lines.  Use the Scor-tool to burnish the fold lines.

Turn the piece over and add Scor-Tape along the middle section, being sure to add Scor-Tape to what will be the bottom of the holder.  The Stacker is perfect for this as it holds your tape while you  have both hands free to place the tape.

Once the middle section is adhered together along the bottom edge, use an oval punch or die to create the opening.  If necessary, carefully cut along the fold so your gift card will fit. 

Wrap the gift card holders with ribbon, and add a phrase.

Quick and Easy Christmas Projects Day 2

Hi everyone.  Christmas will be here before we know it.  The last six years I've blogged about last minute Christmas ideas you could make in under 60 minutes.  Well, it's that time again and I've got some new projects to share.

These cute candy pouches are perfect to hang on the tree or leave on the dining room table.  Be sure to use a pretty double sided pattern paper.  I used an older Graphic 45 paper collection.

Cut cardstock 5 1/4" x 2 3/4".

Cut pattern paper 5" x 2 1/2"

Glue the 2 pieces together then score at 1", 2", 3 1/2" and 3 3/4".

Fold on all score lines.

Using The Stacker pull the 1/8" Scor-Tape and place it between the 3 1/2" and 3 3/4" scored lines.  Cut ribbon about 12" long and center it on the tape.

Tie the ends together to use as a hanger.

Place the 3/8" Scor-Tape in the 2nd box as this will hold the candy in place.

Place the candy on the tape, fold the first panel up and the other panels over. the candy.

Cut ribbon about 8" long and wrap around the container and tie a knot.

Don't they look pretty hanging on the tree?

Snow Family Interactive Card

Hi everyone, this fun interactive card starts with the TLC Designs See You in the Center Interactive Die.

Using the largest die, create a shaped card.  Place the edge of the die over the edge of the scored card so the card stays together.

Following the instructions on the reverse side of the package, die cut the card elements and assemble the mechanism - it's easier than you think!  Die cut the top layer of the card from pattern paper and add to the card.

Create a frame to place around the card by die cutting both dies at the same time.

Separating the dies, you have 3 die cut pieces.  I only needed the largest piece, so I placed the others aside for future projects.

Adhere the largest die cut frame to the card using foam adhesives for dimension.  Color digital images from the Snow Family Fun Tree and fussy cut.  Add them to the mechanism.  Moving the mechanism brings the snow girl and tree closer together.

To finish the inside of the card, die cut the same pattern paper and cut off the top edge so it fits the card base.  Die cut white cardstock using the smaller die to use  as the next layer.  Die cut the phrase from the Snow Family Tree Fun set and mat with a larger die, then add to the card.  Finish by adding Liquid Pearls.

Quick and Easy Christmas Projects - Day 1

Select a number of different ribbons and cut to 12" lengths.

Place the ribbons in the Bowdabra, then add a double poinsettia in the channel.

Pull up on the bow wire and tie off.  Then tie to the packaged note cards.

Noel Christmas Ornaments

Hi everyone, I've created some ornaments using the Blank Page Muse Penguins on Ice stamp set.

Supplies:

Blank Page Muse Stamp: Classic Christmas Stamp Set
Blank Page Muse Stamp: Penguins on Ice Winter Holiday Stamp Sheet
White, Green and Red cardstock
Coloring Medium:  Copics
Dies:  Spellbinders

Instructions:

Stamp and die cut the penguins using Spellbinders circle dies.

Color portions of the image with Copic Markers

Mat with red cardstock and add to Christmas ornaments
Add Noel to the reverse side

Add Nuvo Crystal Drops to the ornaments giving them a bit more shimmer and shine.

Add twine  to the ornament so they can be hung from the tree.  I think they'd even look sweet hanging from a Christmas package don't you?

Graphic 45 Christmas Cards

Hi everyone, it's crunch time.  How are you doing with your Christmas cards?

I've used an older Graphic 45 paper collection for these cards.  

I also fussy cut the angel image and matted it with cardstock before adding it to my card.

The 12 days of Christmas phrase was sized perfectly to fit within an oval die.

Merry Christmas Nativity

Hi everyone, are you getting ready for Christmas yet?  This sweet Christmas card can be set up assembly line style for faster creating.

Using a Spellbinders/APG die with Rinea Foiled Papers in Mocha/Gold Glossy, create the filigree arched panel.

I used assorted pattern papers and cardstock from my stash to create the card.  A ribbon was wrapped around the top panel before it was added to the card.

I also die cut Gold/Gold Starstruck, Cobalt/Cobalt Starstruck and Ebony/Ebony Starstruck to create the interior panels.  I  used Emerald/Emerald Starstruck and Ruby/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper to create the poinsettia and leaves.

Christmas Greetings Card with Rinea Foiled Papers

Hi everyone, I'm on the Rinea blog with a delicate Christmas card created almost entirely of Rinea Foiled Papers.

Using Spellbinders/APG dies,  die cut a white card into the arched shape, being careful to place the die off the folded edge so the card remains intact.  Cut off the little tabs on the right side.

Use the same die, die cut Ruby/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper to fit the card front.  Cut off the tabs on both sides.  Die cut Gold/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper for the next  intricate layer.  Assemble the card.

Die cut Silver/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper to create the center of the card.

Die cut additional leaves from Emerald/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper and adhere to the silver layer.

Die cut poinsettias using Ruby/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper and leaves  Emerald/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper and add  them to the card with additional leaves.

Add additional leaves along the bottom edge.

Add liquid pearls to the centers of the poinsettias.

Joy Slimline Card

Hi everyone, I'm on the Clear Scraps blog working with one of their new mini shakers.  With slimline cards all the rage, I used the Mini Shaker Joy  as the focal element.

The Mini Shaker consists of 3 chipboard pieces and one acrylic piece.  Remember to remove the film off both sides of the acrylic piece before assembling.

In keeping with the season, I painted all the pieces with gold paint and placed them aside to dry.

While waiting for Joy to dry, I created the card using Lawn Fawn dies.

I adhered poinsettias to the left side of the card, then put it aside while I finished the shaker.

I assembled all the pieces to create the shaker placing some Little Dude Sequins and some Lovely Sequins in the cavity.

Finally, I adhered the shaker to the card.

And the completed card looks amazing.
