Traveling Gift Box

Hi everyone, it's a new month and the challenge on the Scor-Pal blog is to create anything, just be sure it includes more than one score.

I chose to create a hexagon box this month.  I saw this recently on the Stamping Bella's blog and thought it would make a great traveling box.

Fill with small objects or candies and give to someone special.  Maybe even create enough boxes for a party give-away.

Start with a 9" x 12" piece of cardstock.
Placing the 12" length at the channel, score at 1 7/8″, 3.75″, 5 5/8″, 7.5″, 9 3/8″ and 11.25″,
Rotate and score at 2″ and 7″

Cut along the score lines to where they intersect.  Cut away the .75" pieces on either side and reduce the height of the next cut as shown.

Use a hexagon die to die cut the side pieces or follow the directions here for creating your own hexagon die cut pieces.

Using the Stacker to hold your Scor Tapes, proceed to adhere the hexagons to each side of the box.

Be sure to leave the smaller edges free when putting the hexagons on the box.

Cut hexagons to fit the sides of the boxes; cut pattern paper to fit each side of the box.

Placing another strip on the top of the box.  Cut a scrap of cardstock .75 x 7".  Gentle roll over your fingers, then score .50" from either end.

Attach the handle to the top using brads.  To cover the brads, add another strip of pattern paper inside the box top.

Stamp a phrase and tie to the handle.

Please stop by the Scor Pal blog to see what the other designers have created this month.

Thanks for stopping by.
