Scor-Pal Challenge #73

Hi everyone, it's a new month and the challenge on the Scor-Pal blog is to create anything, just be sure it includes more than one score.

I chose to create some new gift card holders.  I honestly don't like giving a gift card because I feel I haven't actually bought that person something.  But I have found that if I dress up the gift card, I actually feel better about giving the gift card.

These are really simply and easy to create, and if you use a sturdy double sided cardstock, it's already decorated!

Start by cutting cardstock 5" x 9 3/4".
With the long side at the top edge of the Scor-Pal, score at 1 3/4", 4 1/2", 5 3/4" and 7".

Fold on the first and last scored lines, then create the mountain fold with the middle scored lines.  Use your Scor-tool to burnish the fold lines.

Turn the piece over and add Scor-Tape along the middle section, being sure to add Scor-Tape to what will be the bottom of the holder.  The Stacker is perfect for this as it holds your tape while you  have both hands free to place the tape.

Since you can create 2 gift card holders from 1 sheet of 12" x 12" cardstock, I created a second one using the reverse side of the paper.

Once the middle section is adhered together along the bottom edge, use an oval punch on the top edge to punch a half oval.  In order to allow the gift card to fit, carefully cut along the fold to within 1/2" of both edges.  Your gift card will now slip in easily.

Die cut Happy Birthday from white cardstock, adhere to die cut circles, and place on the bottom flap.  Place gift cards in the holder.

Wrap the gift card holders with ribbon.

Finish by stamping a birthday phrase from Joy Clair's Out of this World stamp set on an oval, then tie it to the ribbon.

Please stop by the blog to see what the designers have created for you this month.

Valentine's Day Banner

Hi everyone, I'm on the ClearScraps blog today with a Valentine heart.

We recently adopted a puppy and I thought this would be a fun way to showcase her.

Using one of the acrylic Banners, I placed it atop a sheet of pattern paper and drew around it.  After removing the plastic film, I adhered the paper to the back of the Banner.

Next, I cut a sheet of Rinea Ruby/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper to fit, then crumpled it before adhering it to the front of the Banner.

A row of flowers was added across the Banner and ribbon was used as a hanger.

Assorted tags were placed across the Banner.

Using one of the new wood heart shapes, I painted it, then cut a photo to fit behind it.  The heart was adhered to the Banner overlapping the tags. To finish, gemstones were added around the Banner.

Loving You Panel

Hi everyone, I've got a new post for Clear Scraps using some new products that will be available soon.

I loved the wood finish and did not want to take away from it's beauty so I simply inked the edges with red ink.

I placed an inked panel of sheet music as the next layer.

Then I proceeded by adding an assortment of elements from tags to flowers and a wood heart which I painted with red paint.  A pearl heart was added on top of the wood heart.

I used a Crop-A-Dile to punch holes in the panel and tied ribbon in place.  Additional tags were added on top of the heart.

A clay corner accent was inked and then added across from the flowers.

Cut pattern paper 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" and wrap with twine.  Add stamped panel to background with foam adhesives for dimension.

Happy Valentine's Day

Hi everyone, it's almost Valentine's Day and the Authentique Romance paper collection is perfect for any sweet Valentine's projects.

Using Lawn Fawn dies, die cut pattern paper and cardstock.  These dies are perfect matched to allow for stacking.

I actually used the reverse side of the rose pattern paper for the center of the card.  Then, cutting small photos from the Romance collection, I matted them and added them to the card.

Finally, I used a small die to cut a phrase from the Authentique paper.

Next, I created a sweet bag of hearts to accompany the card using the same paper pad.

Who would you give these to this year?

Thanks for stopping by.

Halloween Greetings with Just For Fun Rubber Stamps

Hi everyone, it's a new challenge at Just For Fun Rubber Stamps and this month we are celebrating Halloween

This witch is one of the new stamps which will be available in the store soon.  I paired her with Halloween Greetings from Sentiment 1.

Using papers from Authentique, I started with a woodgrain panel and wrapped it with ribbon.  Torn paper layers were added over the ribbon with foam adhesives.   The witch was stamped and fussy cut, then placed on the card with the sentiment slightly behind her.

She's a great witch sending Halloween greetings.

Joy Clair's October Challenge

Hi everyone, this month's challenge at Joy Clair is to use this photo as inspiration.

I created a Halloween card using the Spooky Greetings clear stamp set.

I stamped the hat and phrase using the MISTI.  I wanted the hat to fit just above the phrase and I wanted to use 2 colors of ink on the phrase.

Using the MISTI, I stamped the first color then reinked the stamp in the 2nd color and stamped it again.  Works wonderfully every time.  I stamped the hat in black ink just to be sure my die cut hat would fit on the card.

I created a top folding card from black cardstock and added a striped background.  The next layer was torn then matted with black cardstock and added to the card.  Whisker Graphics twine was wrapped around the card and the stamped panel was add on top with foam adhesives for dimension.  The witches had was stamped and die cut, then matted with a larger black circle and fit perfectly in the allotted space.

Joy Clair Septemer Release

It's new release day at Joy Clair and the new stamps are amazing again!!

I'm using the new Spooky Greetings clear stamps.  This is such a fun stamp set to create with. I used 2 of the stamps to accent this fun paper collection from Authentique.  The stamps were the perfect accent pieces.

Happy Halloween was stamped on the witch image.

Something wicked.... was stamped to the left of the witch image fitting perfectly around it.

Love this black and white card.  I used the same stamp, but I chose to die cut it and use it as an accent piece.  The witch hat was stamped and then a second hat was fussy cut and added with foam adhesives for dimension.

Be sure to check out everyone's projects this month and leave comments.  You will love them.  And remember, there are prizes to be won.

Do you need a hug?

Hi everyone.   It's time for a new challenge at  The Ink Spot.  This week's theme is hugs.

I've using Heart Riley with some Authentique papers.   This could totally be a Valentine's Day card, a Mother's Day card, or even a card for your boyfriend/husband.

The Be Mine sentiment was the perfect sentiment to finish the card.

May Arts DT Call

Hi everyone, did you know that May Arts is having a DT call?  I am super excited because I would love to work with Bethney and her team.  And, having a wonderful supply of beautiful and amazing ribbons on hand wouldn't hurt either!!!!

My samples for the call include:

Envelope card
Used a legal envelope and decorated with Authentique papers and Prima Doll stamp.
May Arts Ribbon was used where the papers were joined together before adhering to the envelope.
Used a circle punch to punch the front of the card where the card in inserted.
More May Arts Ribbon was used as the card pull and a gift card was added inside the pocket.

Grandma's Trunk
Painted a little wood box and put everything inside you'd think you'd find in Grandma's trunk - jewels, purses, shoes, doilies, flowers and more.
May Arts ribbon adorns the edge of the box as well as the dress form and latch.

Summer Album

I decided to take apart the album before working on it because I wanted the papers to be closer to the edges.  Since I have a Zutter Bind-it-all, it was very easy to reassemble.  Plus, because you can take it apart, you can put it back together  any way you want!!!!!

This album is full of assorted sized pages in canvas, chipboard, corrugated board, envelopes and acrylic.

Some May Arts mesh  was tied around the acrylic page which was finger painted with Art Anthology’s Copper Sorbet, and more  mesh  was tied around a paper covered envelope.  Rub-ons were scattered about the pages.

On the back page, I adhered some May Arts burlap ribbon.  Note to self – I think adding a few sea shells amongst the burlap would really add to the summer theme.

I used Art Anthology’s Colorations in  Peacock Feathers and  Waimea Bay to color the canvas, using the Basically Bare Paparazzi Embellies as masks on the canvas.  I’ve put the Embellies aside for other projects.

There is a wonderful pocket page included in the album.  I covered it with pattern paper and added some May Arts burlap and placed some summer phrases on top.

Using more  mesh  , I scrunched it up and adhered it to the corner of the next page.  Slip a photo underneath for a fun and funky look.  There are plenty of spots to add photos in this album.

The double front doors were layered with lots of papers and all kinds of summer phrases.   Then lots of May Arts ribbons were tied to the binding – all summer colors in a variety of styles and colors and sizes.  Some of the ribbons include: Iridiscent, Ombre, Polka Dots, Mesh, Sheer, and OrganzaMay Arts has such a wonderful collection of  ribbons to create some amazing projects.
