Clear Scraps XL FALL Layout

Hi everyone, I'm on the Clear Scraps blog  using a Clearscraps XL panel.  These acrylic panels are perfect for creating a scrapbook page or a wall hanging.  They are definitely light weight enough to be put in a scrapbook but not so flimsy that they buckle while hanging on the wall.

I've used the XL Scallop Square as the base of my layout choosing to paint the panel with fall colors.  Think red, orange, yellow, brown or other colors of your choice.

Once dry, I selected an assortment of pattern papers and stickers, adhering them with the panel, leaving room for the scallops to show.

With Fall in full swing I wanted to document a fund ay with Paulie.  I created some leaves from Makin's Clay and the Leaves Push Mold, adding them in the corner.  Some word stickers were added to emphasize the day.

And if you want, turn it into a wall hanging simply by punching holes and adding ribbon.

Christmas Ornaments

Hi everyone, I'm on the Proxxon blog with a set of Christmas ornaments.

Supplies:
Proxxon Scroll Saw
Proxxon Delta Sander
Rinea Foiled Paper
Spellbinders Dies

Who doesn't love decorating for Christmas?  Using assorted tools, you can create an amazing assortment of ornaments.

Draw the pattern on the wood, then cut the ornaments using the Scroll Saw.

Punch holes in the tops using the Drill Press so you can hang the ornaments once decorated.

Sand each ornament with the Delta Sander.

Wanting different colored ornaments, I painted each with Folk Art Color Shift paints. Remember to paint both sides of the ornaments.

Once they dried, I cut Rinea Silver Starstruck Foil to fit the top of each.

Next, I decorated each ornament by die cutting several different colors of Rinea Foils.  Ribbon was tied to each ornament so they can hang wherever you want them.

Thanksgiving Cards with Rinea Foils

Hi everyone, now that Halloween has passed, it's time to turn our thoughts toward Thanksgiving.  Joy Clair and So Suzy have some wonderful stamps so I've paired them with assorted die cuts to create wonderful Fall cards.

The Autumn Foiled Paper pack has some really rich fall colors.  Glossy and Starstruck papers in colors called Ruby, Mocha and Marigold.

I created a 5 1/2" square card from brown cardstock and added a layer of script paper on top.

Using a wonderfully intricate cornucopia die from Tutti designs, the foil cut beautifully.  I cut the cornucopia from Mocha and added a piece of Marigold Starstruck under the pumpkin, gluing it to the pumpkin veins so it would stand out.  Then I added Marigold under the cornucopia.

Next, I die cut an oval from Marigold and embossed it with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  A smaller oval was die cut from Gold Foil (you can use the reverse side of any of the foils) and embossed with a script embossing folder.  I placed the cornucopia on the oval, leaving the corner edge free.

Happy Thanksgiving from So Suzy/Crackerbox stamps was stamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink on Marigold.   Embossing power was added and the panel was heat set.  Because foil buckles in the heat, I had this funky effect.

Once it cooled, I smoothed out the stamped panel and matted it with cardstock.  I love the effect.  I then placed it on the card with foam adhesives.

For my next card, I created a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card from brown cardstock then added the same script background panel.

I chose a Spellbinders die that would be used to showcase all the colors in this collection.  The largest layer was die cut from Mocha and the smaller layer from Gold.  The flowers were die cut from Ruby and the leaves were die cut from some scraps of Emerald.

Happy Fall Y'all, from Joy Clair was stamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink on white cardstock, then die cut to fit the center of the panel.  A ribbon was die cut from Emerald and adhered to the center.    To finish, dew drops were added randomly to the flower centers.

Give Thanks Cards with Arnold Grummer Papermaking Kits

Hi everyone, I'm on the Arnold Grummer blog with several cards created with the Arnold Grummer Papermaking Kit.

Did you know you can add items to the pulp to create an assortment of different papers?  Once I had the pulp ready, I added a sprinkling of botanicals.   But I could also have added leaves, angel wings or rosebuds or even mica flakes for different effects.  Once you pour out the pulp, just swirl the botanicals (or other items) so they spread around the paper.

Using a punch, I punched several leaves from my paper.

Next, I stamped and embossed on my paper.  Your paper can be stamped and heat embossed for amazing effects.

I created a 5 1/2" square card, then cut the handmade paper to fit.  Then I added the elements and used mini paper clips to clip the punched leaves to the card.

For my second card, I created a 5 1/2" card and placed a striped panel on the card.

I used a scrap of handmade paper from which I punched another 3 leaves.  I backed this piece with cardstock then added it atop the remaining torn paper which was inked with brown ink.

Next, I placed the 3 punched leaves back in their spots, using foam adhesives for dimension.  Another stamped and embossed panel was added to the card.

Doesn't handmade paper create amazing cards?

Housewarming Basket with Makin's Clay

Do you know someone who has just purchased a new home?  Why not put together a gift basket with assorted goodies the new homeowner will enjoy.  I've decorated a plain wood basket with Makin's Clay embellishments..

Supplies:
Makin's Clay - Straw, White, Red, Green
Makin's ProfessionalⓇ Cutting Mat
Makin'sⓇ Clay Push Mold - Leaves
Makin'sⓇ Clay Clay Tool Set
Beacon Adhesives - 3-in-1
Imagine Shimmer Craft Spray-Frost

Since I had some opened clay, I decided to created a variety of colored leaves.  I began by conditioning the clay, keeping some leaves a solid color, then mixing clays to achieve a variety of colors.

Using the Leaves Push Mold, I created quite a few leaves.  While still damp, the leaves are easy to handle and I used the Rasp tool from the Clay Tool Set to cut away any undesirable edges.

Once the leaves were ready, I spritzed them with Imagine Shimmer Craft Spray to give them a little bling.

Next, I arranged the leaves in a pattern on the basket and glued them in place with Beacon Adhesives.

I filled the basket with all kinds of goodies from sauces to coffee to candies and cookies.

What do you think?

Etched Blessing Jars

Hi everyone, it's almost Thanksgiving and it's time to share a new project I created with Etchall

I placed each jar in etchallⓇ dip 'n etch and let them sit for about 15 minutes.

After 15 minutes, I removed the jar and rinsed it off.  As dip 'n etch liquid is reusable, I poured it  back into it's original container so it could be used for other projects.

Whisker Graphics twine was wrapped around the top of the jar.  A 1" strip of Rinea Starstruck Mocha Brown Foil was wrapped around the jar.  Using a Spellbinders die, I die cut Glossy Emerald/Gold, Glossy Marigold/Gold and Glossy Ruby/Gold foils, layering them and adhering the panels to the jars.

A phrase from Crackerbox/SoSuzy was stamped with Versafine Onyx Black Ink and embossed before being die cut and added to the center of the foiled panels.  To finish, gems from the Robin's Nest were added to the flower centers.

Pinecones and a light were placed inside.

Lighted or not, the jars look amazing.

Thinking of You with JFF Stamps

Hi everyone, it's a new challenge at Just For Fun Rubber Stamps blog and this month it's all about the colors, brown, orange and red.  Perfect fall colors don't you think?

I pulled out some papers I had previously painted and smooshed and they happened to be the right colors.

I stamped the Harvest Bundle, one of the recently released stamps, with brown ink and embossed it so it would stand out against the background.  For additional definition, I added touches of StazOn Studio Glaze to the pumpkins and the corn stalks.  Next, I die cut the image and matted it with a larger cardstock die.

Thinking of You, from the Sentiments 1 stamp set ,was stamped in red ink, matted with cardstock and added to the card slightly overlapping the image.
