Hope Dream Believe Wall Hanging

Hi everyone, I'm on the Clear Scraps blog with a new wall hanging today.

Have you tried the 8"x8" Page Display yet?  This acrylic page display can be decorated both inside and out.  I cut some pretty pattern paper and slipped it inside.  Knowing I wanted to hang it, I tied ribbon to the top.  The acrylic display makes it easy to change out your pattern paper to create different looks as the paper easily slips in and out.

Taking apart the Fancy Butterflies chipboard embellishments, I inked them with purple ink and embossed them with clear embossing powder.

The butterflies were the perfect embellishments to go with this paper.  I glued them to the right side of the panel so they appear to be in flight.

Robin's Nest dew drops were added to the flower centers and were  also used as the butterfly trails.

Using  Rinea Fuchsia/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper, I die cut several delicate words that I thought were right for this panel, adding them to the left side.

Isn't it pretty?

Animal Print Purses

Hi everyone, it's a new month and the challenge on the ScorPal blog is to create 3 of a kind.

These purses take 1 1/2 sheets of paper and are quick and easy to make.  Think of making them as party favors or place a little gift inside and give to someone special.

Score a 12" x 12" sheet of double sided pattern paper at 4" and 8".  Rotate and score again at 4" and 8".  This creates 9 evenly spaced boxes.

Rotate the paper and score from the point to the scored line on each corner.

Create a handle by cutting paper 1 1/2" x 12".  Score in half; add Scor Tape and seal.

To create the top of the purse, cut paper 4" x 7".  Score along the long edge at 3" and 4".

Place ScorTape on the 4" square portion.  Adhere to one of the center panels.  Adhere the handle in the 1" space created, folding the flap down.  Add flowers to the flap.  Finish off with Velcro.

Exploding Wedding Card and Envelope

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today with an Exploding Wedding Card and coordinating  Envelope, perfect for giving to a special bride and groom.

 

 

 

Supplies:
Cardstock:  Bazzill
Pattern paper:  K&Company, Momenta
Scoring Tool:  Scor-Pal
Adhesive:  Scor-Tape
Ribbon:  May Arts

Step 1 -
Cut cardstock as follows:
2 pieces - 6" x 12" (for tri shutters)
2 pieces - 6" x 6" (for front flaps)
1 piece - 6" x 8" (for base)

Step 2 - tri shutters
Make 2 tri shutters with the 6" x 12" cardstock
Align the longer side with the top edge of the Scor-Pal
Score each piece at 2", 4", 8", 10"

Step 3 -
Using a trimmer, cut both tri shutter pieces as follows:
Starting 1 3/4" from each side, cut down from the first scored line (2") to the last scored line (10")

 

Step 4 -
Create mountain and valley folds on each tri shutter

 

Step 5 - Base
Using the 6" x 8" cardstock, place shorter side at the top edge
Lightly score at 3"
Rotate cardstock and lightly score at 4"

Step 6 -
Following the scored lines, place Scor-Tape along the 3" mark
Center ribbon on the Scor-Tape

Step 7 -
Place Scor-Tape on the tri shutter panels that will be adhered to the base
Align both tri shutters to the 4" scored line on the base
They meet in the center and help hold the ribbon in place

 

Step 8 - Front Panels

Score the 2  6" x 6" panels at 2"

Place Scor-Tape on the 2" flap and adhere to the front panels to form 1 unit

 

 

This is the assembled card.

 

Now it's time to decorate
Cut papers to fit each flap of the card
Embellish as desired

 

A fussy cut flower added some depth to the front of the card

Use the ribbon to tie the card closed

 

To create the envelope, use double sided pattern paper

Plus the Scor-Envi on the Scor-Pal

Place the paper on the diagonal and score at 3" and 9"

Rotate the panel and score at 1 1/2" and 10 1/2"

  

 

Cut in to create triangles where the score marks overlap

This will make it easier to fold the envelope

 

Place score tape along the edges of two flaps and fold the bottom panel up to create the envelope

 

Place the card inside
Perfect fit every time!

Thinking of You Butterflies

Hi everyone, now that Christmas is over, it's time to time to think of New Year's and all the possibilities that the New Year brings.  

Butterflies symbolize new beginnings so I just wanted to share a card I created using tons of  Ann Butler's Crafter's Inks, with a Memory Box stencil and my Scor-Pal.

This Memory Box stencil is so pretty and delicate.   Using art daubers with Ann Butler's Crafter's Inks, I inked the butterflies with Berry, Sunshine, and Tangerine.  Once they were "painted",  I used Limelight to ink around the butterflies, creating the background.

Once I had the colors as I liked them, I die cut the design with a Spellbinders die, fussy cutting the butterflies so they would be free.

 

I inked around the oval with ColorBox Pigment ink in Espresso, die cut a larger mat and also inked that.  I inked some metal butterflies with Berry, Limelight and Sunshine, then heat set them so the ink would stay put.  Note to self, heated metal is hot - don't pick it up right away!!

 

I created a 5" x 10" card from orange cardstock and scored vertically every 1/4" using my Scor-Pal.  I also inked around the card with brown ink before mounting the design with foam adhesives.  The sentiment was stamped with Tangerine Ink and embossed with Top Boss embossing powder and added to the card.

Dream It Wish it Do it

Hi everyone.  Been playing around this weekend with stamps from the Rubber Dance. 

 

I love this sentiment and wanted to frame it in some way.  So I pulled out my Spellbinders dies and created a set of 3 dimensional elements to use with the stamp.

Hi everyone.

Have  you checked out the stamps and dies from   Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps yet? If not, you should see the fun assortment of stamps and dies they have in stock.

The rubber stamp I used here is Ravens with Hearts and was stamped with black ink on gray cardstock.  The doily was added behind for a lacey effect.

 

To keep the focus on the image, I used tiny stickers for the sentiment.

Blog Hop with Prickley Pear and Cheery Lynn Designs

Hi Everyone.

The design team at  Prickley Pear Rubber Stamps and the design team at Cheery Lynn Designs have joined together for a blog hop this week.

I'm working with GG0043 Wishing you Success plus the Cheery Lynn Mesh die.

I stamped the sentiment in blue ink on blue cardstock, using it as the focal point of my card.   I added other elements to complement the sentiment.

The graduation cap is a Cricut cut and the clock is a metal embellishment.  Since the Mesh die was a little too big for my card, I carefully folded it for a cool effect.  the sentiment was placed on top with foam adhesives for dimension.

 

 

On this next card, I'm working with GG0043 Wishing you Success plus DL244 Tiny Rum Punch Doily.
