Lavinia World Challenge #11

Hi everyone, it's time for the next challenge at Lavinia World Challenges.  Please check it out and join in the fun.

 

I adore this Moments Like These stamp.  She was stamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink in the center of the panel.  She seems to pensive thinking about what is to come, don't you think?  Using a tricolor Memento Brilliance Ink pad, I inked the panel

 

I then stamped the Small Pixies - they appear to be hovering overhead listening to her thoughts!

 

The panel was matted with kraft cardstock then adhered to the card.

 

 

Once Upon a Dream was also stamped with VersaFine Clair Nocturne Ink and embossed.  Once matted with cardstock, it was added to the card with foam adhesives for dimension.

Wander with purpose

Hi everyone, I've got a new card for Joy Clair's WCMD Challenge #3.

I've built a scene with Joy Clair's Broken Brick Background stamp and the Happy Camper stamp set.

I stamped the camper and created a mask from a 2nd stamped image.

Using the camper as a mask, I added the tees and the brick walkway.

I colored the images with Copic Markers and added the panel to a script background.

Happy Fall with Just For Fun Stamps

Hi everyone, Just For Fun Rubber Stamps has disbanded the design team, but I still have projects to share. 

Ink stamp with Versafine Clair in Shady Lane and Green Oasis.  Then add touches of Versafine Clair  Pinecone ink.

Cut panel to 4 1/2" square and mat with green and brown cardstock.

Cut pattern paper 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" and wrap with twine.  Add stamped panel to background with foam adhesives for dimension. 

Die cut happy fall from green and brown cardstock.  Add to card slightly offsetting the top layer.

Handmade Christmas Tags

Hi everyone, I'm on the Arnold Grummer blog sharing Christmas Tags using handmade papers.

Cut handmade papers into 3" x 8" panels.  Emboss each with an embossing folder, then run assorted colors of VersaFine Clair inkpads across each.

Wrap velvet ribbon around each tag.  Die cut scalloped panels and adhere to each tag.  Die cut scalloped ovals, ink the edges and place on top of the scalloped panels with foam adhesives for dimension.

Stamp phrases on a smaller oval in black ink and adhere to the tags.  Finally, staple ribbons to each tag and attach to your Christmas packages.

My Studio

Hi everyone, it's World Cardmaking Day and I'm sharing a peek into my studio.

I work best in a mess so my craft desk is always full of products (especially those I love to use on a continual basis).

My papers are stored on these storage racks.   While I tried to sort by color, it works better for me to sort by company as I can generally find what I need that way.  Across the top are some of my projects.

And, I also use the floor for storage and class kits (but it's way too messy to show here!!).

Live LIfe in Full Bloom

Hi everyone, Happy World Cardmaking Day.

I've used Marigold/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper along with Sapphire/Sapphire Starstruck Foiled Paper which I die cut with Lawn Fawn dies.  The stamp is from Joy Clair's Friends and Flowers stamp set, which was lightly colored, then matted on  Marigold/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper.

StazOn Pigment Ink was perfect to stamp on the foiled paper as it did not smear.

Add all the elements to the card with foam adhesives, then add some dew drops to the flowers.

Happy Halloween Witch

Hi everyone, I've got a fun card to share today.  Since Halloween is just around the corner, I thought this Art Impression stamp set was perfect.

The images were colored with Copic Markers before fussy cutting them.  To add a little sparkle, I used Spica pens on the witch's stockings.

The card was created with scraps and a strip of ribbon placed between the layers.  The top panel was placed on an angle with foam adhesives for dimension.  My witch and pumpkins were added on top.

Isn't she sweet?

Boo Panel with Makin's Clay

Hi everyone,  I've got a new Spooky project to share on the  Makin'sⓇ Clay blog.

Start by spritzing the panel with assorted colors of Fireworks Inks.  I started with lighter colors then realized I wanted a darker effect so I added a darker blue and gray.

Begin by conditioning the white, black and brown clays.  Then place each individually in the clay machine at the highest setting.  Reduce the setting on each pass until you have the thickness you need for your project.

As I was creating a Halloween scene, I die cut a haunted house from the black clay.  To be sure the clay did not stick to my die, I placed the clay between wax paper and then ran it through my die cut machine.  Although still damp, it die cut beautifully. 

Picking up the left over black clay, I mixed it with some white clay and again ran it through the clay machine until I had a mottled effect.  I then die cut the roof of the house and placed it atop the main image. 

 As the clay was still damp, no glue was needed to adhere the pieces.

Next, I die cut 2 trees using another Sizzix die.  Again, I placed the clay between wax paper so it would not stick to the die.

Once all my elements were ready, I started creating a spooky scene.  I began by adhering some torn strips of paper across the panel then put the trees in place.  Realizing I wanted fence posts, I used the left over black and white clay and die cut the fences.  I also had left over brown clay so I free hand cut a sign.  Using the small pumpkin cutter, I created several pumpkins, used a craft stick to create texture, then spritzed each with Fireworks Craft Sprays.  They were placed around the sign onto which I added letters spelling BOO.

Using the ghost clay cutter, I created a number of ghosts that I adhered to the panel.  In the upper corner I created a moon and placed a ghost on top.  

The black cats are standing on the fence and the witch's hat is in the tree.  Yellow clay was added behind the house to simulate light in the windows then the house was adhered to the panel.  Using the remaining black and white clay panel, I used a rectangle cutter to create bricks for a walkway.

Happy Fall Basket

Hi everyone, I've got a new project on the Proxxon blog.

Taking a paper mache pumpkin, I used the Rotary Precision Tool to drill several contiguous holes in the pumpkin - long enough to get the Jigsaw blade inside the pumpkin.

The Jigsaw cut the pumpkin without issue.

Since I had raggedy edges, I used the Delta Sander to sand down the edges.

I ran a bead of adhesive around the edge of the pumpkin and placed a pleated strip of burlap.  I used paper clips to hold the burlap in place until the glue dried.

While waiting for the glue to dry, I used the Hot Wire Cutter to cut a circle from Smoothfoam that would be placed in the bottom of the pumpkin.

  Then I gathered some silk flowers and placed them inside the basket.

Happy Halloween with ScorPal

Hi everyone, it's a new month and the challenge on the Scor-Pal blog is to create anything for Halloween  just be sure it includes more than one score.

This cute Halloween card is created from 2 pieces of black cardstock, each 4 1/4" x 5 1/2".
Each panel was scored at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2".

Adding Scor-Tape to the non scored panel, place the second panel on top creating a double gate fold card.

Cut pattern papers to fit all panels.  Add strips of cardstock across the gatefold panels, then adhere an oval with a die cut witch to the left side.

Inside, stamp a phrase from Joy Clair's Spooky Greetings stamp set on a yellow panel.  Mat it with black cardstock and add strips of orange and black cardstock across the top.  Stamp a witch hat from the same stamp set, punch it out and add to the panel.

Happy Halloween Wtth JFF Stamps

Hi everyone, Just For Fun Rubber Stamps has disbanded the design team, but I still have projects to share. 

I used the Jack 'o Lantern Frame stamp, the Witch's Hat Frame stamp, and the Witch's Leg Frame stamp, stamping each in black ink on white cardstock.  Each was cut and then added to a panel of black and a panel of orange.

I created a card from black cardstock and wrapped it with ribbon.  The panel with then added to the card with foam adhesives.  Using the Scor-Pal, I scored 2 lines above and below the panel.  Halloween Greetings is from Sentiments 1, stamped in black ink, matted with black and orange cardstock.  It was also added to the card with foam adhesives.
