Etched Flower Vase

Hi everyone, need a quick summer craft to keep the kids occupied?  Why not etch a vase then add a beautiful bow created with the Bowdabra

Place the vase in a container filled with etchallⓇ dip n etch.  Since my vase was tall, I etched the bottom half, then turned it upside down and etched the top half.

Etching takes 15 minutes so allow each half time to etch.  Remove the vase from the dip n etch and pour it back in the container.  Since dip 'n etch is reusable, there is no waste.

Rinse off and dry the vase.  I love the etched look, so I added a pretty pink bow and some roses along the bottom.

Using the bow wire, tie the bow around the vase.  Any excess bow wire can be brought to the front and curled into spiral.    Create a row of clay roses using Makin'sⓇ clay and a Prima mold.  Paint the roses to match the ribbon and adhere along the bottom of the vase.

Fill with flowers and give to someone special.

In Appreciation with Just for Fun Rubber Stamps

Hi everyone I've got a new card on the Just For Fun Rubber Stamps blog using some great stamps from the store to create my card.

I created a pinwheel from Rinea Ruby/Gold Glossy Foiled Paper.  Using a flower and brad, I attached it to a paper straw.  Finally, I adhered the pinwheel to the card.

A sweet sentiment from Sentiments 3 was stamped on white cardstock and matted with red cardstock then adhered to the card.

Candy Cones with Handmade Papers

Hi everyone, I've got a new post on the Arnold Grummer blog.

Using handmade papers, I rolled them into cones, then used Scor-Tape to adhere the cones together.

To decorate the candy cones, placed Beline Lace Feather Fringe from Expo International along the edge, adhering it with Scor-Tape.

The cones were then decorated with assorted flowers.

I put tissue paper inside then filled each with candy.

These would make wonderful party favors don't you think?

Small steps with Creative Vision Stamps

Hi everyone, I've created a new card using stamps from Creative Vision Stamps.

I used the Foilables Toner Sheet - Uplifting - for this card.  I used Crystal Ballroom Heat Transfer Foil on the phrase, then die cut it into shape.  I die cut a larger purple shape.

The background is a sheet of Graphic 45 pattern paper wrapped with ribbon.  The die cut panel was added on top.

What do you think?

Whimsical Mushrooms with Proxxon Tools

Hi everyone, my newest post on the Proxxon blog is a set of whimsical mushrooms.

I started by drawing the pattern on my wood.  Then I used the Scroll Saw to cut the pattern.

I used the Delta Sander to sand the mushrooms.

Next, I used the Pen Sander to get into the tiny areas.

I painted the mushrooms with Plaid Coastal Paint.

The stems were painted with Seal Grey Coastal Paint and then the tops were painted green.

I used a stencil with molding paste to create a pattern on the tops.  Next, I lightly inked the edges.  To finish, I added chipboard elements for a whimsical effect.

Fabulous Gift Bag with Bowdabra

Hi everyone, my newest post on the Bowdabra blog is a gift bag decorated with a fabulous bow using the Bowdabra.

Supplies:

Bowdabra
Bow Wire
1/2" wide ribbon
3" wide ribbon
Christmas Spray
The Crafter's Workshop stencil
Imagine Crafts Brilliance Ink
Art Dauber

Cut bow wire, place it in the channel and wrap it under the Bowdabra to keep it out of your way while creating the bow.  Cut a 12" length of 1/2" sheer ribbon and place it in the channel.

Leaving a 4" tail, place the ribbon in the channel.

Make a 3 looped bow, twisting the ribbon as it is placed in the channel.

Use the bow wand to push the ribbon into the Bowdabra.

Pull up on the bow wire and tie off.

Fluff out the bow.

Once the bow is done, create a design on the gift bag using a stencil and ink.

Use the 1/2" ribbon to tie the bow to the handles. Next, use the bow wire to tie the Christmas spray to the center of the bow.

Wrap the bow wire around a pencil to create spirals.

Now you have a personalized gift bag for that special Christmas gift.

Summer Crafting with Imagine Crafts

Hi everyone, crafting during the summer months often takes a back seat to outdoor activities and it can often be hard to find some creative time.  Rather than stress about it, doing a little advance prep work will give you the freedom to create even if you only have 30 minutes available.

See how I prepare assorted papers in advance so I can create a card or two when I have limited time.

Stop by the Imagine blog for details.

Happy Birthday Card with Rinea Foiled Paper

Hi everyone, I've got a new card on the Rinea blog using the Patriotic Foiled Paper Variety Pack to create a birthday card.

Using an intricate Happy Birthday die from Crafter's Companion, I die cut it from Glossy Ruby Red/Gold foil.

Then I adhered it to a panel of Starstruck Silver.

Next, I matted the panel on black cardstock to make it pop.

I matted black and white dotted paper on black cardstock, then wrapped the panel with red ribbon.  The foiled panel was added to the card on a slight angle with foam adhesives.

Several flowers were adhered to the panel and pearls were added about the panel.

If today is your birthday, I'd love to wish you a happy birthday.
