Halloween watercolor skull

I'm on the Susan K. Weckesser blog today with a fun, not so creepy skull just in time for Halloween.

 

I used inks like watercolor paints and painted the skull.  Then used an assortment of Unity stamps to add interest.

Beautiful Backgrounds with Gel Press

Hi everyone, I am participating in the Designer Crafts Connection blog hop this month.  This month we are working with Gel Press. 



Gel Press was kind enough to send me a 5" x 7" plate and I am in love!  There are so many options when using the plate. 

While I often use paint with the Gel Press, this time I decided to use Susan K. Weckesser's Color Pop Pigment Inks from Clearsnap, stamping them directly on the plate.

 

Next, I used a brayer to blend the colors on the plate.  I pulled one print at this point, but I wanted some more detailing.

 

 

So, I placed the Rounded Art Screen from ColorBox on the plate.

 

I placed white cardstock on the plate and rubbed.  I used the second print for the background of my card and used the first print for the JoyClair stamp set - Santa's Coming.

 

 

 

Then I reinked the Gel Press with the same inks and used the Mandala Art Screen from ColorBox.  I placed the Art Screen on top, placed white paper on top and pulled a lovely image.  Then I obtained the negative effect by removing the Art Screen and placing a second sheet of paper directly on the plate.

I used the positive image for my card's background and the negative for the sentiment.  I stamped a sentiment from JoyClair's Hello Autumn stamp set on the negative portion, then die cut it for the center of the card.  I think it looks wonderful!

 

 

And then I played around and pulled some additional prints using stencils and assorted paints for some future projects!

Tiny Tumbleweed Houses

Hi everyone, I've got some cute cards on the Susan K. Weckesser blog.

 

I've used the Tumbleweed Houses  stamps.  The houses in this set are so sweet, you could mix and match them, stamp them together or stamp them individually.  I fussy cut them and colored them with Copic Markers.  The clouds were used with Makin's Clay Cloud Clay Cutters and white clay and added with Beacon Adhesives.

 

I used one house stamp on this card and used the sentiment from Grandma's Needlepoint, stamping it in Color Pop Kiss Ink.  A pink cloud and pink flowers from Makin's Clay Clay Cutters and clay were added with Beacon Adhesive.

Happy BIrthday Dog

Hi everyone, it's time for a doggone cute birthday card.

Stampendous has some amazing stamps and dies and I've used the Cling Pop Up Puppies Rubber Stamp and coordinating Pop Up Puppies die cut set.  One of the dogs is the focal point of my card.  Once die cut, I colored him with  Colorbox® Color Pop Metallic Pigment Ink by Susan K. Weckesser in Shimmer using a water brush.  On his tongue, I used Colorbox® Color Pop Pigment Ink by Susan K. Weckesser in Kiss and added Snow on his cheeks.

 

 

The background is a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I inked over the embossed portions with Colorbox® Color Pop Pigment Ink by Susan K. Weckesser in Fresh, a gorgeous color.  I matted it with black cardstock then added a black die cut oval for my dog.

The Birthday Wish Stamp is also from Stampendous and was stamped with Colorbox® Color Pop Pigment Ink by Susan K. Weckesser in Mystery.  The bone was stamped and die cut then colored with  Colorbox® Color Pop Metallic Pigment Ink by Susan K. Weckesser in Shimmer using a water brush before adding to the card with foam adhesives.

Isn't he adorable?  Who would you give this card to?

Prima Design Team Call

Just found out that Prima is having a design team call.  So excited as I love their products and just adore the Julie Nutting doll stamps.

The background of this canvas is tissue paper which was spritzed with a variety of colors of ink.  Rollagraph wheels were used around the canvas.  Graphic 45 papers were cut apart and add to the canvas with foam adhesives.  The doll was stamped and fussy cut.  A second layer was stamped on pattern paper, fussy cut and then the doll was dressed.

This large tag was so much fun to create.
The background was stamped and distressed.  Die cuts were placed between the layers.  The doll was stamped and fussy cut.  A second layer was stamped on pattern paper to create her dress.  Assorted die cuts were added to the tag.

    

  

Christmas door hanger.  The background was stamped and inked.  Assorted elements were added amongst the flowers.  A Prima doll was stamped and fussy cut then dressed and added to the door hanger.

   

 

And what about a couple of fun travel cards.  These stamps make it easy to create masculine cards.  The boys were stamped and fussy cut then added to the cards amongst travel elements.

Storage ideas with Scor-Pal

Hi everyone, it's a new month and that means a new  Scor-Pal challenge.  This month we've created some fun storage ideas.  So easy and fun to do when you use your Scor-Pal.       

I created a tall box that could easily hold pens and pencils or an assortment of left over embellishments we all seem to collect.

 

 

 

 

Step 1:  Cut cardstock 11 1/2" x 11 1/2" (I forgot to do this till step 2!).
Step 2:  Score cardstock at 2 3/4", 7 3/4"

 

Step 3:  Rotate once and score at 1/2", 3 1/4", 6", 8 3/4"

Step 4:  Cut along the score lines as shown and trim the 1/2" edge from the top and bottom

Step 5:  Cut coordinating panels of cardstock 2 1/2" x 4 3/4" (save scraps)
Cut pattern paper panels 2 1/4" x 4 1/2"
Ink edges with Clearsnap Mustard Dye Ink before assembling
Add Scor-Tape to the cardstock and adhere to the center panels of the box (it's easier to do this while the box is flap)

Step 6:  Find the center of each top panel and cut to form triangles

Step 7:  Add Scor-tape to the 1/2" panel and assemble box

Step 8:  Remember the left over scraps from the cardstock panels?  Adhere one to the bottom of the box to provide some additional support.

Step 9:  Punch holes in the tops of each piece and run ribbon through and tie together.

Step 10:  Add assorted flowers and leaves to the box with glue dots.

Tickled Pink with Susan K. Weckesser

Hi everyone. 

I recently received some awesome Core-dinations cardstock called Tillie Dot Spotted.  I created a 5 1/2" square card and, using the Core-dinations sander, I lightly sanded the embossed dots.

I just love the Susan K. Weckesser pattern papers.  They are double sided beauties.  Using the Tickled Pink tag from the Live in Color collection, I die cut it into a heart, inking it with pink ink.   I matted it with Core-dinations cardstock and a scalloped layer from the Live in Color collection

 

I tied some pink May Arts Mesh ribbon around the card.

 

Wouldn't this be great to announce a new arrival?

Home Gift Card Holder

Gnome Sweet Gnome Blog hop with Susan K Weckesser and Unity Stamp Co.

Hi everyone, Susan K Weckesser has some new stamps with Unity Stamp Co.  Check them out, they are amazing!!!  I can't wait to use them all.





For today's project, I've used the "what's up gnomey?" set, choosing to fussy cut the gnome and some greenery.  In folklore, the definition of a gnome is a small imaginary being usually portrayed as a hunchbacked man with a long white beard who lives underground guarding treasure.  Susan portrays him perfectly.

I chose to color my images with Tombow Markers and then fussy cut them.  I had this 4" x 4" burlap panel that I thought would be awesome to sit him on.  I inked the edges of my images and the burlap panel with Clearsnap Chestnut Pigment Ink, then I arranged the elements on the burlap panel.

Now this little gnome can protect my treasures!!!!
